In the Ancestor League, you'll be able to earn pieces of the exclusive Beastmaster Armour Set by completing 40 new challenges. At 4, 8, 12 and 16 challenges, you'll receive the Beastmaster Boots, Gloves, Body Armour, and Helmet respectively. Additional tiers of this armour set are unlocked as you complete more challenges in the Ancestor League. Completing challenges also grants you pieces of the Ancestor Totem Pole Hideout decoration!
List of PoE 3.22 Challenges Guide
1. Beginner's Basics(4)
Complete each of the following tasks.
Equip a Magic Utility Flask. Utility flasks provides a guaranteed timed buff over the flask duration. Such as 40% increased Movement Speed, or +35% to all Elemental Resistances, etc.
Have Equipment in every slot. Equipment refers to any items that can be placed into equipment slots on the character's inventory screen. These include weapons, armour and jewellery, but excluding flask and trinket.
Identify a Rare item. Scroll of Wisdom identifies an unidentified item. Right-click this item then left-click an unidentified Rare item to apply it.
Defeat an Act Boss. An act boss is a powerful boss at the end of a storyline act. Defeating it is mandatory in order to progress to the next act.
2. Cultivated Cultural Customs(4)
Complete each of the following encounters.
Win a match in the Trial of the Ancestors. To access the Halls of the Dead, the player must use a Silver Coin from town or hideout, or enter using the waypoint. The player needs to click the Well of Passing to cross over into the afterlife. Banish all of your opponents Ancestral Totems to win the match.
Spend Favour to recruit a Karui Warrior. When you compete in tournaments, you'll accumulate favour with each of the tribes. This can be spent on recruiting warriors and purchasing field items and equipment to power up your team.
Banish enemy Ancestral Totems (0/5). Fight alongside your selected warriors to defeat the enemy chieftain and warriors, and banish their totems to prevent them from repawning. Players have to channel near a totem to banish it and cannot deal damage to it directly. Being hit while banishing a totem interrupts actions and prevents all actions for a duration.
Banish a Chieftain Ancestral Totem. The fallen chieftains of each Karui tribe participate in a tournament called the Trial of the Ancestors. You will journey to their Afterlife to compete against these tribes by assembling your own team of Karui warriors. You'll battle their chieftains in the tournament to earn valuable rewards.
3. Peddler's Produce I(4)
Complete vendor recipes to receive each of the following items. A vendor recipe is when you trade a specific combination of items to a vendor, not when you buy items from their purchase screen.

4. Act Adversaries I(5)
Complete each of the following encounters.
Act 1: Merveil, the Twisted. It is the final boss of Act 1, located in the Cavern of Anger. Defeating her is the objective of the quest The Siren's Cadence.
Act 2: Vaal Oversoul. Vaal Oversoul is the final boss of Act 2, located on the top floor of the Ancient Pyramid. One must use The Apex, or the complete amulet from the quest Deal with the Bandits in the Dark Altar in order to summon it. Defeating it opens the way to Act 3's City of Sarn.
Act 3: Dominus, Ascendant. It is the final boss of Act 3, located in the Upper Sceptre of God, on the Tower Rooftop (after climbing 3 or 4 staircases in the Upper Sceptre of God) Upon defeating him, Lady Dialla appears to congratulate the player and opens the way to Act 4.
Act 4: Malachai, The Nightmare. It is the final boss of Act 4, located in the Harvest's Black Core's final area: The Black Heart. Defeating him allows the player access to Act 5.
Act 5: Kitava, the Insatiable. It is the final boss of Act 5. The battle consists of multiple phases in which players must damage Kitava, then damage Kitava's Heart, and this occurs alternatively till Kitava is defeated.
5. Deadly Deeds(4)
Complete each of the following encounters.
Open a Strongbox. Strongboxes are a special type of chest found throughout Wraeclast. When opened, a strongbox will release groups of monsters to surround and attack the character. Only once all of the ambushing monsters are slain will a strongbox relinquish its loot.
Complete an Abyss. Abysses are interactable objects in instances which spawns cracks and pits that spawn monsters. They can spawn from Act 6 onwards. Abysses are marked on the minimap with a green icon .
Open a Smuggler's Cache. Smuggler's Cache is a type of loot container that can be found in act areas from Act 6 onwards and maps. It contains contracts, Rogue's Markers, and a quest contract if any are available. They can also occasionally drop blueprints, as well as unique contracts once their prerequisite quest contracts are completed. This mechanic is referred to as Heist.
Complete an Expedition. Expedition is the league mechanic of Expedition league, released in version 3.15.0 which the player can first encounter in Act 6.
6. Tawhoa's Tribal Trials(4)
Complete each of the following encounters.
Spend favour (0/10,000). When you compete in tournaments, you’ll accumulate favour with each of the tribes. This can be spent on recruiting warriors and purchasing field items and equipment to power up your team. Each tribe has their own specialities and you can mix and match warriors from different tribes to build a team that embodies your strategy.
Activate a field item. Field Items are items that are placed on the battlefield. It can be activated during the match. For example, revive Warrior or heal your entire team.
Act 6: Tsoagoth, The Brine King. It is the final boss of act 6, located in the Brine King's Reef. Defeating him is part of the main quest The Brine King.
Act 7: Arakaali, Spinner of Shadows. It is the final boss of act 7, located in the Temple of Decay Level 2. It is an ancient Vaal goddess according to the quest log and NPC dialogues. It is also worshipped by people of Azmerian descent. Defeating her is part of the quest The Mother of Spiders. The rescue Silk part of the quest, however, is scripted to be fail.
Act 8: Lunaris, Eternal Moon and Solaris, Eternal Sun. Lunaris, Eternal Moon is the final boss of Act 8. It is one of the bosses of the Solaris and Lunaris fight. The other boss is Solaris, Eternal Sun. When both bosses are defeated, they are unlocked as major gods in the pantheon system.
Act 9: The Depraved Trinity. It is the final boss of Act 9, located in The Rotting Core. It's the combined power of the three lieutenants of Malachai : Doedre, Maligaro, and Shavronne. The boss sometimes applies ground effects that inflict Effluents debuffs (red and purple).
Act 10: Kitava, the Insatiable. It is the final boss of Act 10. The battle consists of multiple phases in which players must damage Kitava, then damage Kitava's Heart, and this occurs alternatively till Kitava is defeated.
8. Quality Quandaries(5)
Complete each of the following quests.
A Dirty Job. Act 1. Clear the Fetid Pool of all undead and any other monsters.
In this league, zones contained a pack of frozen monsters which held an Essence, where taking it freed the monsters imbued with its power. Essences can be used to modify items with a specified guaranteed affix, some of which are exclusive to Essences. Essences can be traded to vendors for higher tiers and can even be corrupted for a chance to gain an even stronger Essence or destroy it.
Defeat a Breachlord. The Breachlords are five endgame bosses, located inside the five types of Breaches. Each Breachlord can be battled in its own domain, a map area only accessible by activating the corresponding Breachstone in the map device. Breachlords drop exclusive unique items. Killing them is the only way to acquire Blessings. When inside the Breachlord's domain, the player must fight their way through a breach while a timer counts down. Killing enemies will expand the timer. If the timer reaches zero, the stage ends and the player will be unable to encounter the Breachlord.
Defeat a Harbinger Boss. Harbingers can be encountered via Kirac's Atlas missions, as part of Kirac's crafted Harbinger map modifier on map device or as part of specific atlas passive skill, or in Harbinger nodes in the Azurite Mine.
Defeat a Legion General. Legions are ancient armies frozen in the midst of battle. They can be encountered by touching a Timeless Monolith, which breaks out the Legions and gives the player a window of time to defeat them. There are a total of five different legions. The Eternal Empire, Karui, and Vaal are the most common, with the Templar Legion being rarer, and the Maraketh Legion being the rarest.
Defeat a Delirium Unique Boss. Delirium is a zone-wide effect that spawns new enemies and empowers existing ones. PoE Delirium Boss: (Kosis, The Revelation), (Omniphobia, Fear Manifest). Using Simulacrum to open the boss fighting area. Sometimes the player can also encounter the boss in maps affected by the Delirium mist.
Complete the last Ritual in a map. Rituals are encounters that spawn from Ritual Altars. After activating the Altar, players must defeat the enemies enclosed within the Ritual Circle, gaining Tribute in the process. Players can then spend the earned Tribute to purchase various types of rewards including pre-identified rare items.
Shrines can appear randomly in most areas, granting significant bonuses to nearby monsters or casts spells at nearby players, and are often guarded by monsters. Players can steal the shrine to gain its bonuses for 45 seconds or until leaving the area. Players can have any number of different shrine effects at once. This encounter is considered Extra Content and has a chance to appear in any map area or most story areas; it also has separate chances to spawn additional shrines. The specific chance for shrines to spawn has never been officially published. This mechanic is also referred to as Domination.
Open Breachlord Clasped Hands (0/50). Breaches also contain "Clasped Hands", a breach-specific type of chest. They come in two varieties, "Clasped Hand" or "<Breachlord>'s Clasped Hand". These chests can drop additional splinters and can only be opened when the breach expands to them. It is possible to see Breachlord specific Clasped Hands before opening the breach itself as a shimmering transparent object.
Complete Breachstones (0/4). Breachstones are items obtained by combining 100 Splinters (This process is irreversible). Like maps, they can be placed in the map device. A breachstone will generate six portals to its corresponding Breachlord's domain, a high-level area where the Breachlord can be fought.
Complete a Flawless Breachstone. Breachstones can be empowered using the respective Breachlord's Blessing on it, turning it into the Flawless variant. The area of a Flawless breachstone offers an increase in quantity and rarity of items found, as well as an increase in monster level, monster experience and monster pack size over its regular counterpart. Flawless Breachstones also spawn with additional modifiers and grants less additional time from monster kills.
Breaches are timed monster-spawning portals. Breaches will randomly spawn in an area in an inactive state. They're easily identified by the hand-like construct within a purple circle and purple swirls can be seen within the vicinity. Walking into the hand will activate the breach.
Breaches have a baseline greater than 8% chance to occur in maps by default. Xoph, Esh, and Tul Breaches are significantly more common than Uul-Netol or Chayula.
12. Ramako's Regal Rituals(7)
Defeat any seven of the following Karui Tribes in the final match of the Trial of the Ancestors while you have at least 100 ranking.
Harbingers are invincible enemies that summon waves of enemies and summon new ones as they are defeated. Harbingers can also indirectly attack by empowering their minions, such as creating a Righteous Fire aura around a monster or have all monsters use Flame Dash. At higher levels, Harbingers can also summon Obelisks that can attack or power up their monsters.
Unlike the player version, Harbinger can still cast Mark skill as aura, as well as Hex as aura.
3.22.1 Patch Notes: All Beachhead Harbinger Bosses can now grant credit towards the "Defeat Harbinger Bosses" portion of the Harrowing Harbingers Challenge.
Open Legion War Hoards (0/50). War Supplies(atlas passive): Each Legion in your Maps contains an additional War Hoard.
Unlock the 5 Slot Map Device. Completing the Domain of Timeless Conflict with four factions unlocks a fifth slot for the map device.
Defeat Legion Generals in the Domain of Timeless Conflict (0/200). Face Off(atlas passive): Legion Encounters in your Maps are 60% more likely to include a General. Legion Encounters with a General in your Maps have both Generals. (Legion Generals are Queen Hyrri Ngamaku, General Marceus Lioneye, Cardinal Sanctus Vox, Viper Napuatzi and Aukuna, the Black Sekhema)
Kirac Map Mods: Legion. Area contains an additional Legion Encounter. Cost: 6x Chaos Orb.

15. Delusional Delirium(4)
Complete each of the following Delirium encounters.
Kirac Map Mods: Delirium. Area contains a Mirror of Delirium. Cost: 10x Chaos Orb.
Delirium is a zone-wide effect that spawns new enemies and empowers existing ones. Randomly while players are completing the acts or running Maps, a Mirror of Delirium will spawn. They will always spawn within a close distance from the zone entrance. Once a player passes through it, it spawns a gray mist that spreads outwards throughout the map, beginning the Delirium encounter.
Reroll Favours (0/100). Rewards can be rerolled for 2,000 points. This can be repeated 2 additional times if Profitable Prayers is allocated.
Use Blood-filled Vessels with Maps (0/10). Blood-Filled Vessel is a map fragment and can be used in a personal Map Device alongside a Map to add the monsters stored from a previous Ritual Altar to a Ritual Altar in that Map.
Rituals are encounters that spawn from Ritual Altars. After activating the Altar, players must defeat the enemies enclosed within the Ritual Circle, gaining Tribute in the process. Players can then spend the earned Tribute to purchase various types of rewards including pre-identified rare items. This encounter is considered Extra Content and has a baseline greater than 8% chance to appear in any non-unique map area.
3.22.1 Patch Notes: Updated the Relentless Rituals challenge to require defeating Rare or Unique Monsters in Rituals, instead of just Unique.
Field items can be placed before a match in any of the 16 Warrior positions. Idols can be used in combat once; unused idols can be used in the next match. Used field items and field items unused by the end of the tournament are destroyed.

You earn rewards for each match you win. In addition to a selection of regular items that may be offered, there are some exclusive new rewards that you can only get from the Trial of the Ancestors. Passive Tree Tattoos are one such reward. These are not applied to your skin but are instead engraved on your soul. Applying your tattoo will change what the attribute skills on your passive tree do.
If you win the entire tournament, Hinekora can also offer you a new type of item called an Omen. They can be stored in your inventory until a condition is met, at which point it is consumed and its effect occurs. You can only consume one Omen per combat area. She may also offer a lock of her hair, which allows you to foresee the result of an item crafting outcome.
Complete a Sanctum Floor while you have a Major Boon. Boons grant various benefits to your Sanctum run and can help recover or mitigate damage to your Resolve, increase your Aureus and rewards, debuff monsters, grant Inspiration, or provide other helpful buffs.
Complete a Sanctum Floor while you have an Accursed Pact. Accursed Pact rooms allow you to accept any of three random Accursed Pacts which grants both an upside and downside, as well as an item reward upon accepting at least 1 Accursed Pact. Accursed Pacts are unlocked in Act 7 after completing the quest Sanctum Temptations.
The Forbidden Sanctum has been added to the core game. You'll initially meet Divinia in the Oriath Docks in Act 10, who provides you with access to the Forbidden Sanctum.
The Forbidden Sanctum has a maximum Area Level of 83.
Introduced Forbidden Tomes, which are tradeable items that are found in the end game. A Forbidden Tome represents the entire first floor of the Forbidden Sanctum, and its rooms can be played back to back.
Upon successfully completing a Sanctum floor, the next floor is generated as a tradable item with the state of your Sanctum built in, including your Boons, Afflictions, Resolve, Relics and Aureus.
Relics have also returned and are now tradeable. They are locked in at the beginning of the first Sanctum floor, and cannot be changed for the remainder of the Sanctum run.
25. Completely Complicit Corruption(5)
Corrupt items to achieve each of the following outcomes.
Vaal-Specific Unique. Corrupt a Unique Jewel into a different Unique Jewel.
Turn it into a Vaal-exclusive unique jewel with the same jewel base type. Cobalt Jewel/Crimson Jewel/Viridian Jewel have valid corruption outcomes. Prismatic Jewel, Abyss jewels, and Cluster jewels will return the "no effect" outcome instead.
White Socket. Corrupt an item to have a white socket.
Vaal Orb corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictably.
26. Cross Contamination(4)
Complete any four of the following past league content encounters.
Defeat a Possessed Map Boss while in a Ritual. Unrelenting Torment(atlas passive): Map Bosses have 10% chance to be surrounded by Tormented Spirits. Kirac Map Mods: Area contains Ritual Altars. Map: Unique Bosses are Possessed.
Defeat a Legion General while you are in a Breach. Face Off(Atlas Passive Tree): Legion Encounters in your Maps are 60% more likely to include a General. Legion Encounters with a General in your Maps have both Generals. Kirac Map Mods: Area contains 2 additional Breaches.
Defeat a Breachlord while Delirious. Breachstone: the Breachlords are five endgame bosses, located inside the five types of Breaches. Kirac Map Mods: Area contains a Mirror of Delirium.
Defeat a Beyond Boss while affected by a Shrine. Torn Veil (Atlas Passive Tree): Beyond Portals in your Maps have 30% increased chance to spawn a Unique Boss. Kirac Map Mods: Area contains 3 additional Shrines.
Defeat a Metamorph and Harbinger within 10 seconds of the first dying. Players can use combination of the collected organs to create the Metamorph monster: Metamorph Brain, Metamorph Eye, Metamorph Lung, Metamorph Heart and Metamorph Liver. Kirac Map Mods: Area contains 3 additional Harbingers.
Place your warriors to have them fight with you in the match.
Defeated Warriors revive at their Ancestral Totem after a delay. This delay increases each time a Warrior is defeated.
Interact with opponent Ancestral Totems to Banish them. Banished Ancestral Totems cannot revive their respective Warrior. Banish all of your opponents Ancestral Totems to win the match.
If a Warrior is hit while Banishing an Ancestral Totem, they will be interrupted and be unable to take any actions for a duration.
Equipment items can be used to improve your Warriors. Warriors and Equipment items are retained between matches but not between tournaments.
Field Items can be placed in any available slot. They can be activated to trigger their effects. After being activated, Field Items are destroyed.
Attackers will push forward from their position, targeting enemies and Ancestral Totems in close proximity.
Escorts will prioritise following you. Enemy Warriors in the Escort position will follow their Chieftain.
Flankers will push forward, prioritising targeting enemy Ancestral Totems and are less inclined to engage in combat.
Defenders will attempt to prevent enemy Warriors from Banishing Ancestral Totems.
28. Maestro Mastery(3)
Defeat any three of the following Bosses in the specified ways.
Complete any six of the following types of Atlas Memories where the final Map is Tier 16 with at least 100% Item Quantity. Atlas Memories are completed when the boss of the final Map in the chain has been defeated.
While you have at least 8 Field items on the Field and no Karui Warriors
While you have at least 8 Karui Warriors with Equipment on the Field and no Field Items
While you have no Karui Warriors or Field Items on the Field

All enemies immediately respawn if an enemy totem is banished by the player; this does not occur if a warrior banishes it instead. Banishing all enemy totems wins the match.
Both teams can select up to 16 Warriors or Field Items to assist the player or enemy chieftain in battle. Up to 4 Warriors can be assigned to each role.
Attacker: Pushes forward from their position, targeting enemies and Ancestral Totems in close proximity.
Escort: Prioritizes following you. Enemy Warriors in the Escort position will follow their Chieftain.
Flanker: Pushes forward, prioritizing targeting enemy Ancestral Totems and are less inclined to engage in combat.
Defender: Attempts to prevent enemy Warriors from Banishing Ancestral Totems.
Flankers should be prioritized, followed by escorts and defence. The player should prioritize killing enemies while warriors focus on totems.
Complete any six of the following maps while they are Tier 16, have 5 Delirium Orbs, 4 Sextant modifiers and 4 Gilded or greater Scarabs applied with at least 100% Item Quantity while being witnessed by the Maven.
The Favoured Map System allows you to find more of the maps you want to play. Favoured map slots can be unlocked by fulfilling various objectives like completing a Conqueror Map or defeating The Shaper. There are 12 Favoured Map Slots that can be unlocked.
Without ever dying during the Trial of the Ancestors
38. Antagonistic Adversaries(4)
Defeat any four of the following Bosses while they are level 83.
Any Abyss Lich. Abyssal Depths always contain one of two Abyssal Liches. Abyssal Depths Chance(atlas passive): Abysses in your Maps have 10% increased chance to lead to an Abyssal Depths.
Lycia, Herald of the Scourge. Sanctum. Floor: The Beyond. After defeating Lycia's first form, the player can enter a portal to an arena called The Beyond to face her second form. Both forms must be defeated to access the reward chest. Lycia's second form eliminates the Resolve bar and no longer uses Resolve mechanics. Dying during the second form will count as a failed run and prevent looting of the final reward chest.
Olroth, Origin of the Fall. It is an Expedition boss. Location: Expedition Logbook(Knights of the Sun)(Search). Sub area: Runic Stronghold.
Oshabi, Avatar of the Grove. Harvest Boss. Sacred Blossom is a map fragment that grants access to The Sacred Grove, where Oshabi, Avatar of the Grove can be encountered.
The Trialmaster.The Tower of Ordealsis a unique Engraved Ultimatum. In this map, you may challenge the Trialmaster and potentially earn unique items from the Ultimatum league.
Defeat any five of the following Pinnacle Boss encounters in the specified ways.
Cortex while there are at least 12 Void Pits or Pylons active. Memento Mori is an Atlas Keystone Passive Skill. It is for fighting the Uber Venarius. The Cortex is level 85. Void Pits: Creates a small black pool on the ground which chills the player and slows their movement speed, dealing damage over time. Appears in all four Unique phases. Energy Pylons will spawn in all four Unique phases.

The Shaper without being hit by any of his or his clone's non-Basic Attack skills. With the Cosmic Wounds Atlas keystone passive, the Shaper is fought in Area Level 85 and greatly increases in difficulty.

Challenge leagues are a great opportunity for a fresh start in a new economy. All of your old characters and items are still present in the Standard and Hardcore leagues, but you're encouraged to join the new leagues, complete challenges and demonstrate your mastery of Path of Exile!
In the Ancestor Challenge League, you'll visit the Karui afterlife and defeat ten tribes in a series of tournaments to earn valuable new rewards.
As you play through the league, you'll find tradeable Silver coins which are used to gain passage to the Karui Afterlife. You'll start out with a basic team of three Karui warriors to enter the Trial of the Ancestors.
In each match, you can select which tribe to compete against, based on the reward offered. You can examine the battlefield configuration of the enemy team and strategically place your warriors to challenge theirs. Then you and your party will compete alongside your warriors to destroy the opposing team's totems and win the match.
When you compete in tournaments, you'll accumulate favour with each of the tribes. This can be spent on recruiting warriors and purchasing field items and equipment to power up your team. Each tribe has their own specialities and you can mix and match warriors from different tribes to build a team that embodies your strategy.
With 3.22.0, there are Standard, Hardcore, Solo Self-Found and Ruthless variations of the Ancestor challenge league available. They have the same core mechanics and items. You can create private league versions of these leagues, with mods that make the game harder.
The new Ancestor challenge league includes a set of 40 new challenges, and 8 new challenges in Ruthless Ancestor. There are microtransaction rewards for completing challenges that are only obtainable in this league. These rewards will be revealed in an upcoming news post.
