As is shown in the above example, Harbinger’s Orb transforms a Tier 11 map into another map a higher tier. The rarity and quality the map had will be retained, but its base item type and explicit modifiers (in the case of magic or higher rarity) will be rerolled.

Note: A Harbinger’s Orb doesn’t obey the player’s Atlas of Worlds rules, which means that the resulting map may not be unlocked yet.

Alternatives:

• Vaal Orbs: These can also be used to modify maps, but the results are much more unpredictable and can potentially corrupt the map.
• Horizon Orbs: These specifically reroll the map into another map of the same tier but with a different base type.

Map Tiers

There are 16 tiers of maps, each tier corresponding to an area level. Since the T16 map is the maximum tier, Harbinger’s Orb has no effect on it.
