Influenced Items Introduction

Influenced items are special types of base items with an expanded pool of exclusive modifiers, they can be recognized by their graphical effects and icon on the sides of the name plate. Influenced items are primarily found in maps via certain bosses. Certain unique items are influenced as well.

Crafting

• Orb of Dominance removes one Influenced Modifier from an item with at least two Influenced Modifiers and upgrades another Influenced Modifier. Upgrading a modifier of the highest tier transforms the modifier into an Elevated Modifier. Attempting to upgrade an Elevated Modifier rerolls its values. Can be used on Body Armours, Boots, Gloves and Helmets.
• Primal Blisterfruit reveals a random crafting effect for Influenced items when Harvested.
• Primal Blisterlord Bulb allows you to add a random Atlas Influence to a certain type of non-Influenced item when Harvested.

Let's take Elder influence as an example. Open Path of Exile trade website, click Add Stat Filter, input Has Elder Influence and select it, then click the Search button.

Influenced Item Guide

An item can normally have one influence type at a time and newly dropped influenced items will always have at least one influenced affix when acquired. Modifying the item will not guarantee an influence modifier.

An  Awakener’s Orb will destroy an item and transfer its influence type to a different item. The item will have two different influence types as a result. It is possible to create items with two influences by using  Awakener’s Orb. Currently there are 15 combinations (6 Combinations of 2). The order of the donor item does not affect the order of the influence icon on the final item, for example using an Elder item as a donor and a Shaper item as receiver of the mods and influence is the same as using a Shaper item as donor and an Elder item as receiver. The item has a fixed order of influence icons.

There are currencies that adds a modifier from their influence mod pool to the item. This cannot be done if the item already has an influence different than the orb being applied. Also, Synthesised item cannot be influenced.

Items will retain their influence type when modified, even if an  Orb of Scouring is used. It is possible to create certain unique items on an already influenced item using Orbs of Chance. These influenced unique item can interact with certain influenced items that dropped from Elder or Uber Elder fight. For example, Blasphemer’s Grasp,  Mark of the Shaper,  Mark of the Elder,  Disintegrator or  The Eternity Shroud. Notably, Mark of the Elder’s #% increased Attack Damage if your other Ring is a Shaper Item and Cannot be Stunned by Attacks if your other Ring is an Elder Item can both be activated by using a dual-influenced Elder + Shaper ring in any rarity.

1. Crusader item

Crusader items are dropped by Baran, the Crusader or rarely from monsters and chests of map under his influence. It can be crafted by using  Crusader’s Exalted Orb. They can be recognized by their red glow and symbols next to the item’s name.

2. Hunter item

Hunter items are dropped by Al-Hezmin, the Hunter or rarely from monsters and chests of map under his influence. It can be crafted by using  Hunter’s Exalted Orb. They can be recognized by their green glow and symbols next to the item’s name.

3. Redeemer item

Redeemer items are dropped by Veritania, the Redeemer or rarely from monsters and chests of map under her influence. It can be crafted by using  Redeemer’s Exalted Orb. They can be recognized by their blue glow and symbols next to the item’s name.

4. Warlord item

Warlord items are dropped by Drox, the Warlord, or rarely from monsters and chests of map under his influence. It can be crafted by using  Warlord’s Exalted Orb. They can be recognized by their yellow glow and symbols next to the item’s name.

5. Shaper item

Shaper items are found in Shaper-influenced maps or dropped by the Shaper (including Uber Elder fight). They can be recognized by their cosmic background and red star symbols next to the item’s name. Other methods of acquiring Shaper items include Shaper Scarabs, Delve rewards and Incubators.

• Suffix: of Shaping

Shaper-influenced maps can be found in Maps or sold by Zana. The map item would have an implicit Area is influenced by The Shaper.

6. Elder item

Elder items are found in Elder-influenced maps or dropped by the Elder (including Uber Elder fight). They can be recognized by their tentacle background and blue-purple cross symbols next to the item’s name. Other methods of acquiring Elder items include Elder Scarabs, Delve rewards and Incubators.

• Prefix: Eldritch
• Suffix: of the Elder

Elder-influenced maps can be found in Maps or sold by Zana. The map item would have an implicit Area is influenced by The Elder.

Influence Mods Changes 3.17

Move certain powerful influence modifiers into the base item modifier pool, out of the Influence modifier pool. These modifiers will still have a high level requirement.

• Influenced Amulet prefix modifiers that grant +1 to level of gems have been added to the core Amulet modifier pool, and can no longer roll on Influenced Amulets.
• Influenced Shield prefix modifiers that grant increases to maximum Resistances have been added to the core Shield modifier pool, and can no longer roll on Influenced Shields.
• Influenced prefix modifiers that grant increases to maximum Resistances on Boots, Gloves, and Helmets are now suffix modifiers.
• Shields that drop from Delve Chests no longer have their own maximum Resistances prefix modifiers. They will be able to roll the new generic modifier normally.
• Synthesised Shields can no longer roll increases to maximum Resistances as an implicit modifier.
