Burn, freeze, and shock your enemies straight back to the Burning Hells with the Diablo IV Sorceress. The Sorceress is a high-risk, high-reward class that deals excellent elemental damage by casting fire, cold, and lightning spells. They are very fragile, but their spells synergize well with burning, chill, or freeze effects. Sorceresses are best suited for crowd control abilities, especially with their cold spells. Lightning spells are balanced in terms of damage and controlling encounters.
The Sorcerer (a.k.a. Sorceress) is a class in Diablo IV. The Sorcerer is described as a "high risk, high reward" style of hero, harnessing potent elemental magic, but being fragile. Their spells are designed around Fire, Cold, and Lightning abilities.
Main Resource: Sorceress main resource is Mana
Class Mechanic: Enchantment System
Sorcerer has a special mechanic of Crackling Energy. Some Lightning spells, with the right talents, leave behind a ball of energy that can be collected (not unlike Health Globe), restoring some Mana (25 by default).
Chill works in a distinct way for Sorcerer: multiple casts of Cold spells on the same target stack the slowdown. Upon reaching 100%, the enemy will be Frozen for the remaining duration.
Fire spells often place the Burning effect on enemies, dealing Damage Over Time and, with the related talents, providing additional effects.
As a Sorcerer, Intelligence increases skill damage, Willpower grants critical chance, and Dexterity hastens mana recovery.
The Sorcerer utilizes an Enchantment system as a unique class mechanic. With this system, Sorcerer skills can be placed into any of the six active skill slots (that every other class also has access to), or three Enchantment slots, for a total of 9 different skills.
If the player places a skill in the Enchantment slot, they can no longer use it as an active skill, but the character instead gains a passive or semi-passive secondary bonus power related to this skill. Known effects include:
Skills that are already passive by nature cannot be placed into Enchantment slots. Enchantment Slots are small but powerful additions to your build. You can slot certain skills for their offensive, defensive, resource, or utility effects. They can bolster your build or extend its functionality.
When leveling up, Core Stats give the following bonuses to all Classes:
