Diablo 4 PvP

Battles take a turn when you enter PvP zones. Mark yourself as “hostile” and these high-risk, high-reward areas of Sanctuary allow you to take a swing at other players for their valuable loot. But be warned. This also opens you up to being swung at. You will not lose your character in PvP upon death in Hardcore mode.

PvP D4

We’ve created specific zones where players can engage in PvP. If you go there, you can start swinging away at people, but you’re also opening yourself up to being swung at.

Diablo 4 PvP

If you’re really, really good, the game actually marks you as, like, a champion on the map. You basically become a loot piñata, and everyone wants to chase you down.

Diablo 4 PvP

if vanquishing hordes of demons with other players is not your preference, you may prefer a more mortal opponent. Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, forever looking to instigate a skirmish, has cursed specific areas of Sanctuary, transforming them into Fields of Hatred. Here, his influence pits mortal versus mortal in designated PvP Zones. If you give into Mephisto’s temptation by marking yourself hostile, you open yourself up to facing the full fury of others who are marked hostile, but should you be successful in striking down your opponent, their spoils shall be yours to claim. These zones are not for the faint of heart, rather for heroes looking to bring renown to their name through blood and zeal!

Diablo 4 PvP Zone: Fields of Hatred

PvP zones feature where players can battle against each other. The game can be played solo or in a group. The game utilizes a shared world system where groups may encounter one another, engaging in both PvE (PvM) and PvP activities. The game will not have an auction house. Players can create clans while in the game.

Open world PvP takes place in dedicated zones around the world, so-called Fields of Hatred. You will be required to opt-in to PvP. In these zones you will be able to group up and they can also be freely explored without engaging in PvP, unless you start converting your Seeds of Hatred at the Altar of Extraction which will flag you for PvP and alert other players nearby.

The objective in these zones is to collect Seeds of Hatred from killing players and monsters, completing events and opening chests. While carrying seeds you can lose collected Seeds of Hatred on death. These can be converted at the Altar of Extraction to turn them into Red Dust, a currency, which will not drop on death, that can be spent at the PvP Cosmetic and Mount Vendors for ornamental rewards.

After killing a certain amount of players or monsters (and thus collecting Seeds of Hatred), you will become a Vessel of Hatred, marking you as a threat on the map for other players in a large radius around you. Surviving for a set amount of time without leaving the zone will grant you a big bonus, which is currently unknown.

Fields of Hatred

Born from their contempt of mortals, Mephisto has cursed specific areas of Sanctuary, transforming them into deadly Fields of Hatred. These designated PvP zones are the proving grounds for players looking to bring renown to their name through blood and zeal. While inside the Fields of Hatred, players can dispatch demons to collect Seeds of Hatred. To make use of these seeds, you’ll need to bring them to the Altar of Extraction where they can be smashed into Red Dust. Be quick to convert your Seeds of Hatred to Red Dust—they are the desire of other players lurking in the zone, and if they are skilled enough to overtake you in combat, your Seeds of Hatred will be dropped.

Going through the trouble of transforming Seeds of Hatred into Red Dust does have its merits. Red Dust will not be lost if you are felled. It can also be spent at the PvP Cosmetic and Mount Vendors for ornamental rewards. Will you be able to forge a name for yourself in these tainted lands?

Q: Will there be PvP?
A: Yes. Some areas of the world will offer opt-in PvP experiences where you’ll need to watch your back while you adventure.

Guides

Diablo players have been hankering for a solid PvP system in the franchise for a long time. In Diablo 4, PvP will feature in the game and the game has been designed with PvP in mind.

PvP areas are placed around the game's open world which you can walk into. These are optional zones and are called Fields of Hatred.

Players can collect Seeds of Hatred from PvP. These objects are redeemed at the Altar of Extraction and turned into Red Dust which can be redeemed at the PvP Cosmetic and Mount Vendors for ornamental rewards. Red Dust cannot be looted by other players once converted.

PvP areas will have their own mounts and special items but these won’t be more powerful than mounts or items found outside the PvP zones.

Players can become a Vessel of Hatred, or accomplished PvPers if you prefer. Other players in the world will then be alerted to their presence in the game and bounty will be placed on their head. Other players can then hunt down the prolific PvPer.

Like Diablo 2 PvP, Diablo 4 will also feature ears as a PvP trophy. These are only trophies and serve no other purpose in the game.

Party PvP

Players can party in PvP with up to 4 players per group which effectively means players could team battle in the PvP zones.
