Diablo 4 Druid

The Druid class has the unique ability to change their physical form from a human to that of a Werebear or Werewolf. Their Beast themed skills allow them to instantly transform, though the form only lasts for a short duration. The Druid is also a master of magic and specializes in casting earth and storm spells to disable enemies while slaying the forces of evil. For instance, the Druid can execute "Crushing Below" to damage a target by a certain percentage of their total life. Unlike Diablo 2 Druids, the Druid in Diablo 4 has companions that don't need to be summoned. They are automatically called out to attack on their behalf and have respective attack companion skills to deal damage on specific targets.

D4 Druid

The Druid is one of five classes to be confirmed in Diablo IV. The master of shapeshifting makes his triumphant return to Sanctuary! Seamlessly changing forms from human to Werebear to Werewolf, his command over earth and storm magic is second to none.

Class Archetype: Melee, Shapeshifter (Werebear/Werewolf), Caster, Summoner
Class Resource: Spirit
Damage Types
: Physical, Lightning, Poison
Class Skill Groups
: Basic, Spirit, Defensive, Wrath, Companion, Ultimate
Class Skill Examples: Tornado, Hurricane, Maul, Cataclysm, Wolves, Trample
Unique Class Mechanic
: Spirit Animals: Receive boons from four different Spirit Animals!
Usable Weapons and Armor: One-Handed Weapons, Two-Handed Weapons, Staves

Different skills utilize different forms, and entirely new skills like Cataclysm will annihilate hordes of enemies with the unbridled fury of nature itself. Storm magic persists on the battlefield, so you’ll be able to unleash torrents of lightning, wind, and rain before shifting forms to ravage foes.

A unique class mechanic of the Druid is the chance to deal Crushing Blows with any Earth skills, reducing the enemy Life by a flat percentage of their total (not current!) health, although its effect against Bosses and other players is reduced.

Another mechanic used in many Druid skills is Vulnerable debuff, an inversion of the Fortified. While Vulnerable, the enemy takes 30% additional damage from attacks. Vulnerable lasts until the enemy loses the specified amount of Life from any source, not expiring over time and stacking the Vulnerable damage (but not the damage bonus) from multiple applications.

Unlike Diablo II, Druid has no skills that exist purely to transform in and out of the various Forms: instead, each skill can only be cast from one (sometimes two, but not any) form, shifting to it before cast without any extra action. Once shapeshifted, the Druid remains in that form for 3 seconds or until a different action forces them to shapeshift again. The three forms are human, Werebear and Werewolf.

Druid Unique Class Mechanic in Diablo IV

Unique Class Mechanics in Diablo IV are class-exclusive systems that offer additional ways to customize your class further. These systems are also deeply entwined with class fantasy and try to provide an immersive gameplay experience.

The Druid's Unique Class Mechanic is the Spirit Animal System. Spirit Animals, located in Scosglen, will grant the player a variety of boons to choose from depending on the Spirit Animals they have bonded with. Druids will be able to choose one boon from each Spirit Animal that they have unlocked. These boons can be swapped out at will. Once Druids have unlocked all four Spirit Animals they can select a second boon from one of the Spirit Animals to receive a total of five buffs.

List of Diablo 4 Druid Skills

The Druid might choose to become a tanky melee combatant by investing in Werebear talents, though this doesn’t prevent him from using his Werewolf or Caster skills; they’ll just be less optimized.

  • Intelligence: +0.05% All Resistance per point

Druid Dismount Ability in Diablo IV

Each class comes with a unique Dismount Ability which the player can activate. Players who get hit by an enemy will be dismounted automatically and will not be able to activate their Dismount Ability.

When Druids activate their Dismount Ability they will leap into the air, shapeshift into Werebear form, and slam onto the ground.

Druid Skill-driven Deaths

This system allows you to decapitate, bisect, freeze, shatter, eviscerate, and burn your enemies depending on skills used. The Druids's are as follows:

  • Roadkill – The monster is crushed by a moving object, leaving a smear of blood on the ground
  • Devoured– The monster's flesh is eaten away by a swarm of ferocious bites
  • Lightning Gib – Lightning causes the monster’s body to pop, exploding into pieces
  • Maul – The monster’s skin is completely mangled, covering them in blood
