D4 Endless Winter Passive

Endless Winter is an ultimate Sorceress passive talent in the Cold branch. It cannot be taken with Chill to the Bone.

• Critical Strike chance against Chilled and Frozen enemies is increased by 30%, but the Chill effects no longer Freeze.
• Total Ranks: 5
• Requires: Cold Snap OR Hoarfrost OR Frostbite
• Mutually Exclusive: Chill to the Bone

Adds a flat +30% chance to all Critical Hits against any enemy affected by Chill or Freeze (extra applications do not add further chances). However, it also disables one of the defining mechanics of the Sorceress, making Chill effects no longer stack and no longer Freeze an enemy after stacking to 100%.

The trade-off in this case is not obvious and must be carefully measured. In general, as long as dealing damage is of higher priority than Crowd Control, this talent has its use. It is, however, a rather arguable choice with Ice Shards.

This talent affects all spells and attacks (not just Cold spells), but only from the Sorceress herself.
