While snakemen have also appeared in past Diablo games, they will be “really twisted” in 4, with “multiple snake heads [and] even human body parts.”

Snakes are a type of monster in Diablo 4.

Snakes, or the Nangari are human/serpent hybrids that reside in the swamp areas of Hawezar.

This Monster Family has 3 members. The Spitter fires Poison at you and is the only one that looks like a snake. They can be difficult spot at times due to their slender "physique". The Oracle is considered a mage, and is capable of firing multiple acid bombs. It can even plant an "eyeball" Sentry that can target you from afar. These Sentries are really hard to spot can be frustrating. The Longfang is a melee based brute with huge fangs, it loves using them in close combat.

Diablo 4 Nangari

The nangari (a.k.a. snake men) are a group of snake-like monsters found in Diablo IV. They are twisted amalgamations of multiple snake heads, even human body parts.

Hawezar

Hawezar is located to the east of the eastern continent of Sanctuary.

Witches and zealots call this snake-infested Nangari swampland home, scouring the murky depths for ancient artifacts. The unaware will quickly find themselves in dire straits.

Hawezar also includes soldiers from the Order of Zakarum who have travelled here to seek out a “holy location”. Unable to find this holy place, some soldiers remained and settled in the town of Zarbinzet.

The zone is inspired by the marshlands in Florida.

Trivia

  • As a species of “snake men,” the nangari are similar to the Claw Vipers. However, it is implied that the two are separate species, as developer comments reference the nangari as “a new race of snake men.”
  • The name “nangari” bears resemblance to a number of mythological snakes. These include “naga” (a Hindi/Urdu term for snake) and “nagini” (a half-woman, half-snake creature from Indian mythology).
