Diablo 4 Barriers absorb damage from all sources up to a specified amount.

Diablo 4 Barrier

Certain Barrier items and skills give you a barrier. It turns your life glow blue and enemies have to get through the barrier before you start losing life. As you get attacked with the barrier active, the blue outline will slowly go down. And once it's at the bottom, you start losing life again.

have made multiple improvements on how damage and other effects interact with active barriers

  • Bonus damage or bonus effects that are applied on-hit or when dealing damage will now apply that same effect through barriers.
    • Ex: The Exploit Paragon Glyph will now apply Vulnerable to enemies that have an active barrier.
  • Cheat death effects will now work properly when the player has an active barrier.
  • This also affects PvP play.

Barrier Generation Bonus:

  • Increases the amount of Barrier generated from your Barrier effects.

Damage Reduction with an Active Barrier:

  • Reduces incoming damage taken while you have an active Barrier.
  • As this stat increases, additional bonuses become less effective.

Bonus Lucky Hit Chance with an Active Barrier:

  • Increases the chance of triggering Lucky Hits with your Skills while you have an active Barrier.
