Amulets in Diablo 4 is one of the two types of Accessories that the player can wear to increase their defensive an offensive capability. Depending on their rarity, Amulets can have random or unique modifiers that greatly increase the player capabilities.
Amulets are talismans worn on the neck slot. Amulets do not contribute to the overall look of your character in any way, and cannot be of normal quality; they may be only Magic, Set, Rare or Unique / Legendary. Amulets appear in all four Diablo games.

Upgrading your Amulet increases the Resistances they grant as well as the random stats they rolled. While you can upgrade common and magic gear, it is not recommended. You’d be better served waiting until you have rare and legendary/unique Jewelry before spending your materials.
Rare items can be upgraded 3 times, while legendary items can be upgraded 4 times. The cost in Gold and materials increases with each upgrade, and you need special materials to upgrade legendary items.
If you decide you want to upgrade or change your Gems at any time, you can unsocket your gear for a small Gold cost.
You may want to upgrade the Gems you currently have in your gear, or swap to different ones to gain a stat you don’t currently have. Luckily, the Jeweler allows you to unsocket Gems from your Gear for a small Gold cost. This removes the Gem for later use and reopens the slot to allow a new Gem to be Socketed into it. The Gold cost increases as the Item Power of your gear increases.
Characters in Diablo IV can equip a total of 10 items on the following item slots: Helm, Torso, Gloves, Legs, Boots, Amulet, Ring 1, Ring 2, Main Hand, and Off-Hand.
