Auto Attack, Auto Cast – Torchlight Infinite

Auto Cast

Ah, the allure of auto-cast in Torchlight Infinite! Witnessing your skills fire off without a single button press is undeniably satisfying, turning combat into a mesmerizing dance of automated destruction. Let's explore the intricacies of auto-cast and its potential to empower your Torchlight journey:

Understanding Auto-Cast:

  • It allows you to trigger certain skills automatically in specific situations, freeing up your fingers for other strategic maneuvers.
  • Various mechanisms can initiate auto-cast, including:
    • On Channeling: Some skills automatically cast other abilities while you channel a primary skill.
    • On Cast: Specific skills can trigger additional abilities upon being cast.
    • On Critical Strike: Landing a critical hit with one skill can automatically trigger another.
    • Enemy Kill: Eliminating an enemy can activate certain skills automatically.

Benefits of Auto-Cast:

  • Increased Efficiency: Free your fingers for movement, dodging, and strategic actions while your skills unleash fury.
  • Synergy & Combos: Chain abilities together automatically to create devastating combos and maximize damage output.
  • Reduced Complexity: Simplifies rotations and lets you focus on the bigger picture in hectic combat situations.

Challenges of Auto-Cast:

  • Loss of Control: You relinquish direct control over skill timing, potentially wasting casts in certain situations.
  • Gear Dependency: Some auto-cast builds rely heavily on specific gear affixes to function effectively.
  • Understanding Synergies: Mastering intricate skill interactions and triggers is crucial for success.

Popular Auto-Cast Builds:

  • Ring of Ice Gemma: Channel Path of Flames while using Precise Cast on Channeling to trigger automatic Ring of Ice casts, creating an icy whirlwind.
  • Emberstorm Rehan: Utilize Emberstorm's automatic trigger on enemy kills to unleash a fiery tornado that engulfs entire battlefields.
  • Carino Barrage: Leverage Rapid Fire's automatic target switching and high attack speed for a relentless stream of deadly projectiles.

Tips for Using Auto-Cast:

  • Choose Skills Wisely: Select abilities that synergize well and benefit from automated triggers.
  • Gear for Triggers: Seek gear with affixes that enhance desired auto-cast mechanisms.
  • Practice & Adapt: Experiment with different skill combinations and adjust your playstyle to optimize your auto-cast build.
  • Don't Neglect Manual Control: Remember, auto-cast is a tool, not a replacement. Use manual casts strategically for maximum impact.

Embrace the power of auto-cast, but remember – mastery lies in understanding its intricacies and weaving it seamlessly into your combat prowess. Let your skills dance like flames, unleash fiery devastation, and claim victory with the potent grace of automated fury!

What do I do after entering the game?

– Select a hero and create your character

There are currently 4 unique heroes with different combat styles. The selection cannot be changed, so you must create another character if you want to try another hero.

Berserker Rehan

Rehan’s resource is Rage, which he gains when he uses melee attacks or takes damage. So he should pick up melee attack skills.

Frostfire Gemma

Her traits are mostly about cold and fire, and she gains energy from using cold and fire skills. She might look like a “mage”, but she can also pick up cold and fire melee attack skills.

Divineshot Carino

It’s easy to see that he’s a seasoned marksman. He can only use ranged weapons, and his traits are about “bullets”, so projectile skills are best for him.

Spacetime Witness Youga

Youga is undoubtedly a mage, and his traits are Spacetime Magic Circles and Spacetime Illusions. Stand in the circle to gain spell damage bonuses. The Spacetime Illusion also casts the core spell automatically, but not including channeled spells and summon spells.

Enter the game after creating a character. Follow the main story to gain a better understanding of Leptis, learn about skills, talents, and gear.

– Main Story (Level 1 to 50)

There are 3 main chapters, and your character should be around level 50 when you’re done. If you don’t know what skills or talents to pick, you can try using these recommendations.

Berserker Rehan

His initial skill is Focused Slash, and he will learn Hammer of Ash through the main story. The Lava Rift will make up for his lack of reach, and his survivability is boosted by Hardened. We recommend starting with the God of Might talent, with affixes like attack damage increase, fire damage increase and physical damage increase.

Frostfire Gemma

Split Firebolt, her initial skill, is a very practical one. It splits when it hits an enemy, so it’s easy to clear enemy packs even without Multiple Projectiles. She can learn support skills like Efficient Cast, Elemental Fusion and Wind Projectiles to increase her spell hit and damage. As for talents, we suggest starting with Goddess of Knowledge, then follow up with affixes like spell damage increase, fire damage increase, spell critical strike and cast speed.

Divineshot Carino

Ice Shot, his initial skill, is also very practical. Combine it with Multiple Projectiles to boost his pack-clearing ability. Then unlock Thrill, Added Cold Damage, Wind Projectiles to augment Ice Shot. Start with the Goddess of Hunting talent, then select Projectile Damage Increase, Attack Speed and Projectile speed as affixes.

Spacetime Witness Youga

Ice Lances, the initial skill, is good at clearing packs because it bounces. Combine with Freeze Chance, Control Spell (can be skipped if critical strike is hard to stack during early game) and Wind Projectiles to increase damage dealt. Start with the Goddess of Knowledge talent, then add affixes for spell damage and cast speed.

This is a long journey, but changing skills and talents during this time are both free, so feel free to explore and find your comfort zone!

– Netherrealm (Level 50 to 99)

When you complete most of the main story quests and receive an invitation from the Netherrealm Mentor, you can enter Netherrealm Challenge through the Clockwork Core in the top right corner of the Hideout.

Beacon: The ticket to the Netherrealm. Earned from killing monsters in Netherrealm or through the Trade house.

Timemark: Represents the difficulty of the Netherrealm. The higher the Timemark, the higher the difficulty. Defeat the watchers in the area to increase Timemark level.

Loot: Challenge the Netherrealm to get amazing items, such as gear, crafting materials, Fate Cards and legendary gear.

Lastly, we want to emphasize that Torchlight: Infinite is a game that encourages exploring different builds. This is just a very rudimentary guide to get you started, and is not meant to be the only solution. We hope to see you trying out all the possibilities in Leptis, and share your experience with us. It will really help us going forward. Thank you!
