The only child of of Janice Carter, who was the first woman to be elected High Wizard. Janice disappeared from Venelux before her official appointment, never to be seen again. Searches for her whereabouts proving inconclusive, she was presumed dead and her funeral held after a few weeks. At his mother’s grave, Clay discovers Lunar-0, an old dust stone golem she made, who never leaves his side thereafter. After graduation, Clay chooses not to become an apprentice wizard and goes in search of adventure. He believes in his duty as a wizard to protect mankind from potential disaster (magical imbalance and chaos).
