The Beta Test in May will only be available to players residing in South Korea.

PANGYO, Korea (May 18, 2023) – NCSOFT, a global premier game developer and publisher, today announced the successful applicants of the upcoming Beta Test for THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL).

Applicants can visit the TLbrand website to check the selection results. The 5,000 selected beta testers will each receive a coupon to activate an invitation for an additional friend to join. The invitation code can be used throughout the entire test period. The Beta Test starts at 4 PM on May 24 and ends at midnight on May 30. Pre-download of the game is available from May 18.

For those players who have not been selected as the ‘Laslan Vanguard’, NCSOFT operates TL-partnered PC Bangs (Internet Cafes) in 11 cities across Korea where they can also participate in the test. The cities include Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, Ulsan, Busan, Jeju, as well as Changwon – which is the hometown of NC Dinos. During the test period, players chosen as the ‘Laslan Vanguard’ can enjoy the game along with a range of events to receive various rewards, including graphics cards, keyboards, mobile gift vouchers, and in-game items. Here is the list of events:

Beta Test in Korea Release Date

Principal Development Management Officer (PDMO) Moonyoung Choi and Producer Jongok Ahn said, “Following the previous internal and small-scale tests, we aim to further advance and bring the game to perfection based on our players’ feedback through a Beta Test. We will reveal TL’s current build as is to our testers with confidence.”

TL is NCSOFT’s next-generation flagship MMORPG under development. The game demonstrates a seamless living world and dungeons that change depending on the weather condition and surrounding environments. It has an immersive narrative where the past, present, and future are connected. It also features a ‘Free Class’ system, where player roles are decided by the weapon of their choice. It offers a PvP (Player versus Player) combat system that allows players to determine whether they want to engage or not.

Global Test Release Date

When a global publisher is selected, global testing and marketing will be disclosed.

As previously announced, TL is published directly by NC in Korea and by a partner company in global, and when a global publisher is selected, global testing and marketing will be disclosed."

PANGYO, Korea (January 26, 2023) – NCSOFT, a global premier game developer and publisher, today opened ‘Final Test’ registration for the company’s new MMORPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL).

TL’s Final Test will take place at Pangyo R&D Center for two days from February 21 to 22. Players who wish to participate can select one of the two test dates and sign up on the official TL website. Registration is open until February 12.

Participants in the TL Final Test can try out various in-game contents for approximately five hours, including tutorials and ‘Codex Play’, which engages the players to absorb the worldview and story. The Test will also feature regional events and raid system.

Principal Development Management Officer (PDMO) Moon Young Choi said, “We are hosting TL’s Final Test to evaluate the gameplay experience and directly satisfy players’ curiosity before its official release.” He added, “Based on the test feedback, we will further advance the game quality and launch TL within the first half of 2023 in the global market.”

Throne and Liberty Beta Test Release Date

The release date of Throne and Liberty Beta Test is February 21, 2023.

NCsoft’s Throne and Liberty may finally be arriving at the end of a very (very) long road of development and testing: the studio is rounding up players for a final test of the action MMORPG.

This test is scheduled to run in Korea on February 21st and 22nd to “verify the game quality,” allowing gamers to check out the highly anticipated title during those two days. What’s exciting for us is that this means things — launchy-type things — could be happening as early as March. NCsoft also posted a timeline chart showing that Throne and Liberty’s final test is the very last thing before a release.

Late last year, the studio announced that it would be releasing Throne and Liberty on PC and console in the first half of 2023.

Throne & Liberty Internal Closed Beta Test

It has been a little while since we’ve heard anything about Throne & Liberty, but NCSoft is showing off a new video from the company’s internal beta test. They’ve also rolled out a new story map taking us into some new details of the game’s setting, characters, and lore.

What is shown in the video includes some of Throne & Liberty’s key features. We get some glimpses of character creation, exploration, and some huge, large-scale encounters in the form of huge world bosses and the expansive PvP castle sieges with lots of players on screen competing to bring their side to victory.

The number of players engaged simultaneously does show what they’re going for in the development of this new MMO. In fact, over 3,000 employees at NCSoft took part in the internal test, making sure that there were enough players for these huge encounters.

You can see from the video how it’s possible to use the environment and the terrain in combat. Creating this sort of dynamic environment is another sign that NCSoft is clearly going big after pivoting the game from a Lineage followup.
