Orb of Scouring Recipe

1×  Orb of Scouring	Any rare item with 2 affixes.	2 Affixes item can be created: by using a  Regal Orb on a one-affix magic item. (Regal Orb upgrades a piece of magic equipment to rare. The current modifiers are all retained and one new random affix is added.) or by using an  Orb of Annulment on a rare item with 3 affixes(Orb of Annulment removes a random modifier from a magic or rare item.)

As the following example shown, Gale Knuckle Prismatic Ring is a rare item. It only has 2 affixes:

• Adds 2 to 4 Physical Damage to Attacks
• +5 to maximum Life

Sell this 2 affixes rare ring to any vendor for completing Orb of Scouring recipe.

Rare item with 2 affixes = Regal Orb + one-affix magic item

As is shown below, Hale Prismatic Ring is a magic item. It only has one affix: "+5 to Maximum Life". Regal Orb upgrades it to a rare item and also adds one new affix.

You can also obtain these 2 affixes items by using an  Orb of Annulment on a rare item with 3 affixes.

Orb of Scouring Guide

1. How does an Orb of Scouring work?

(1) It only works on a magic or rare item.

(2) It removes the Explicit modifiers.

(3) It cannot removes Implicit modifiers, Enchantment, quality, sockets, links, and affixes protected by meta-crafting mods.

2. Orb of Scouring on Unique

Orb of Scouring can only be applied to magic or rare item, and cannot be used on unique items. You can see from the following image: when using an Orb of Scouring on a unique item, it failed to apply item because the target is not Magic or Rare.

3. Orb of Scouring Enchantment

Orb of Scouring doesn’t remove the enchantments. The behavior of enchantment is much more like the implicit mods, and Orb of Scouring cannot remove it. If you want to remove enchantment mods, Vaal Orb has the chance(note: only has a chance and not guaranteed). Corrupted implicit modifiers will replace the enchantment.

As is shown in the following image, when using Orb of Scouring on a rare item with enchantment, its enchantment is retained.

4. Orb of Scouring on Corrupted Item

Orb of Scouring cannot be used on a corrupted item. You can see the following example and Orb of Scouring failed to craft a corrupted item.

Orb of Scouring Farming Guide

You can obtain Orb of Scouring by killing monsters, open strongboxes, farm divination cards, make vendor recipes, do the prophecy, or trade PoE currency.

1. Farming Orb of Scouring by slain monsters

The drop level of Orb of Scouring is 12 and its drop rate is around 1.377%.

2. Purchase from vendor

• 1x Orb of Scouring = 4x Orb of Chance (Yeena, Act 2)

You can obtain an Orb of Scouring by exchanging 4 Orbs of Chance with Yeena, who lives in The Forest Encampment in Act 2. One can purchase other PoE currency from Yeena, such as Orb of Regret, Portal Scroll, Chromatic Orb, Orb of Fusing, Jeweller’s Orb, Flasks, Amulet, and Ring items.

3. Make Orb of Scouring recipe

You can complete the Orb of Scouring vendor recipe. However, it is not recommended.

4. Orb of Scouring Divination Card

5. Orb of Scouring Prophecy

Erased from Memory is a prophecy. Kill any unique monster and reward you an Orb of Scouring.

6. Trade currency items for it

The price of Orb of Scouring is equal to either 1/450 Exalted Orb, 1/31 Divine Orbs, or 1/2 Chaos Orb. You can exchange currency items for the orb with other players.
