Multistrike Support

Multistrike Support Multistrike Support is a support gem. Melee attack skills that are linked to Multistrike will repeat themselves twice after the initial attack (e.g.: linking Double Strike with it will make it hit six times instead of just two per use of the skill), automatically selecting valid targets within range for the successive attacks. Each repeat deals more damage.

Supports melee attack skills, making them repeat twice when used, targeting a random enemy each time. Cannot support Vaal skills, channelling skills or triggered skills.

This is a Support Gem. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Active Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket.

Skill functions and interactions

When Multistrike is linked to attacks that involve player movement, such as Flicker Strike, the skill will first travel to the destination selected and then will travel to any enemy within range for the next two attacks. If no enemy is available, the attacks will be targeted at or near player location. As of 2.0, Leap Slam and Shield Charge used by players can no longer be supported by Multistrike (it will support these skills if they are used by minions created by Raise Zombie, Raise Spectre, Dominating Blow, Herald of Purity, etc).

Critical strike hits are rolled once for all three strikes. Effects that trigger on an outgoing melee critical strike will only trigger once per activation of the attack, even though all three strikes will crit.

Repeated attacks interactions and attack time

  • Repeated Boneshatter attacks will not give you an additional Trauma stack.
  • Repeated Chain Hook attacks will not give you additional Rage.
  • Repeated Elemental Hit and Wild Strike attacks will use the same element choice as the original attack.
  • Repeated Flicker Strike attacks will not consume an additional Frenzy charge.
  • Repeated Frenzy attacks will not give you an additional Frenzy charge.
  • Repeated Infernal Blow attacks will not apply an additional debuff.
  • Repeated Tectonic Slam attacks will not consume an additional Endurance charge.

Generally, attacks will grant a skill gem-specific benefit or require an extra cost once per set of attacks, rather than once per repeat.

Since Multistrike repeats your attack, the time between uses of the attack is equal to three times your attack time. (Or four times in the case of Awakened Multistrike Support.) For example if you have an attack time of 0.22s displayed on the attack's tooltip, you will only use the attack once every 0.66s. So skills like Boneshatter will prefer to not use Multistrike if they wish to build up stacks quickly.
