Decay Support is a support gem.

Supports any skill that hits enemies.

Chaos, Support. Level: 1–20. Cost & Reservation Multiplier: 120%. Requires Level 38.

Supported Skills inflict Decay on Hit, dealing (120–843) Chaos Damage per second for 8 seconds

This is a Support Gem. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Active Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket.

Decay Support is a support gem that makes hits from the supported skill inflict chaos damage over time.

Skill functions and interactions

Being a chaos damage over time gem, Decay's damage is affected by modifiers (from passive tree, items or skills) that apply to Chaos Damage, Damage over Time or overall (unspecified) Damage. The duration of Decay is not affected by modifiers to skill effect duration.

Because Decay allows the skill to deal damage over time to enemies the skill hits, support gems that can apply to the skill can also modify the decay damage. Relevant support gems will include the wording supported skills deal x% more/less/increased/decreased damage/chaos damage/damage over time. If the decay damage is applied by a minion, trap, mine or totem, it will be affected by modifiers to these entities. Note that decay is not an ailment, so modifiers such as "damage with hits and ailments" will not apply.

Relevant conditional modifiers that affect Chaos damage, Damage Over Time or will also apply to Decay if these modifiers apply to the hit that applies to Decay. Such conditional modifiers include those from Infernal Blow, Storm Burst, and Arc.

Decay does not add a skill effect with a duration to the skill it supports. If the skill does not innately have such a component, neither the skill nor Decay can be modified by Less Duration Support. If the skill is supported by Arcane Surge Support (for spells only) or Lifetap Support (all skills), they gain a skill effect with a duration and can be supported by Less Duration.
