PoE 3.21: The Iron Bard Divination card has been re-enabled, and is now called The Rusted Bard. It now awards 4x Tainted Mythic Orbs.

Tainted Mythic Orb

Tainted Mythic Orb unpredictably either upgrades a corrupted item to unique rarity or destroys it. It is a currency item. Stack Size: 20. Shift click to unstack. The price of Tainted Mythic Orb is about 7 Chaos Orbs. Right click this item then left click a corrupted item to apply it. Cannot apply to Maps. PoE 3.20: The Transformation Divination Card has been re-enabled, and now awards a Tainted Mythic Orb. 3.19.1 Patch Notes: Improved the outcome odds for the Tainted Orb of Fusing, Tainted Jeweller's Orb and Tainted Mythic Orb. PoE 3.19 Changes: The new Beyond monsters can now occasionally drop the Scourge league's Tainted currency items that allow you to modify corrupted items. The Scourge have taken over the realm of the Beyond demons. Summoning monsters from Beyond will now summon Scourge monsters and bosses.

3.16.0b Patch Notes

The Tainted Mythic Orb can now unpredictably upgrade Corrupted items to Unique items even if their item level is lower than when it would normally be able to drop. Prior to this change, the orb would fail to apply to the item if there were no valid Unique items to upgrade to.

Mechanics

• In order to be used, an item must be upgradable in rarity. A unique item is already unique and can therefore not be used with a Tainted Mythic Orb.
• Tainted Mythic Orb can upgrade a corrupted item to unique rarity or destroy it.
• The created unique item will keep its base item e.g. Ruby Ring can upgrade into Emberwake
• Tainted Mythic Orbs can only create drop-anywhere uniques and will not create drop-restricted uniques.
• Using Tainted Mythic Orb on influenced Item will keep the influence Symbol but loose the influence modifier, as a unique item does have specific modifiers.
• It is possible to upgrade a corrupted fractured item to a corrupted fractured unique item. The fracture modifier can change to another fractured modifier.

Tips

1. It only works on corrupted items.
2. Destroys it or upgrades it.
3. Best use: Heavy Belt(for Mageblood), Leather Belt(for Headhunter), Unset Amulet(for Uul-Netol's Vow), Onyx Amulet(for Stranglegasp).
4. The new unique item retains the original Scourged mods.

Example

In this example, it upgrades a corrupted Heavy Belt to a unique Belt of the Deceiver.

The scourged mods are retained: Regenerate 11.4 Life per second (scourge), -30 to maximum Mana (scourge).

Farming Tainted Mythic Orb

Tainted Mythic Orb has restrictions on where or how it can drop. The drop level is 2. Tainted Currency have a chance to drop from Beyond monsters, and is guaranteed to drop several random Tainted Currency from Beyond bosses.

Tainted Blessing	35	Can be placed in the Divine Font to allow enchantment of corrupted gloves, boots, helmets or belts.
Tainted Chaos Orb	12	Unpredictably either reforges a corrupted rare item with new random modifiers or removes all of its modifiers.
Tainted Chromatic Orb	2	Unpredictably reforges the colour of sockets on a corrupted item.
Tainted Divine Teardrop	68	Unpredictably raises or lowers the tier of each modifier on a corrupted rare item.
Tainted Exalted Orb	35	Unpredictably adds or removes a modifier on a corrupted rare item. Rare items can have up to six random modifiers.
Tainted Jeweller’s Orb	8	Unpredictably adds or removes a socket on a corrupted item.
Tainted Mythic Orb	2	Unpredictably either upgrades a corrupted item to unique rarity or destroys it. Cannot apply to Maps.
Tainted Orb of Fusing	50	Unpredictably adds or removes a link to the largest group of linked sockets on a corrupted item.
Tainted Oil	1	Can be combined with other Oils at Cassia to Enchant Corrupted Rings, Amulets or Blighted Maps.
