Reflection of Breach PoE

As you travel throughout Wraeclast, you’ll occasionally discover a Mirrored Tablet. Build up this Tablet by placing reflections of dangerous encounters at specific locations. Be careful though, some of these reflections contain immense challenges.

Once you have assigned a reflection to every empty location on your Tablet, you may open a portal to the Lake of Kalandra, which will manifest your creation for you to experience.

Reflection of Breach

Reflection of Breach is a Reflection. It can be placed into a Mirrored Tablet.

Breach

Breaches will randomly spawn in an area in an inactive state. They’re easily identified by the hand-like construct within a purple circle (see image) and purple swirls can be seen within the vicinity. Walking into the hand will activate the breach. Breaches can also be spawned using Vaal Breach, but enemies in these breaches do not give experience or drop items.

Active breaches will expand their circle outwards and spawn a mix of breach monsters within the circle; the faster the monsters are killed the faster the circle expands. After a while, the expansion of the breach will slow down until it eventually retracts quickly and closes.

Breaches stay open for a minimum of 30 seconds, increasing to a maximum of 60 based on how quickly breach monsters are killed. Normal monsters killed while in the breach do not increase the active time.

Monsters moving outside of the active radius will despawn after a short delay. During this time, however, it is still possible to attack and be attacked by the monsters before they’re removed. It is also possible for monsters inside the breach to hit the character while they are outside it.

Breach monsters have increased item rarity and quantity, but have a reduced chance to spawn beyond demons and only rare breach monsters are able to drop maps. In addition there is a chance to obtain breach-specific unique items and splinters from these monsters as well as breach-exclusive Breach Rings.

Occasionally, a Breachlord can spawn from a Breach. They will drop a number of Splinters when the breach collapses based on how much damage was dealt to them or the maximum of ten when defeated.

Breaches also contain “Clasped Hands”, a breach-specific type of chest. They come in two varieties, “Clasped Hand” or “<Breachlord>’s Clasped Hand”. These chests can drop additional splinters and can only be opened when the breach expands to them. It is possible to see Breachlord specific Clasped Hands before opening the breach itself as a shimmering transparent object.

There are fives types of breaches each associated with a damage type, which will affect accordingly

  • the type of monsters that will spawn with skills associated with the type
  • the type of splinters that are dropped
  • the type of unique items that can be obtained

Reflection

  • In the Kalandra Challenge league, you will travel to the mirrored lake that granted Kalandra her powers of reflection. Her Lake itself has the power to reflect entire encounters from elsewhere in Wraeclast. As you explore the Lake, these reflections emerge from its mirrored surface.
  • As you play through the league, you’ll occasionally encounter a set of columns protruding from the ground, with a mirrored tablet on top. This tablet invites you to construct a custom set of encounters at the Lake of Kalandra, offering a series of different reflections to place in whatever layout you wish. Each of these reflections represents an encounter that you must defeat when you next travel to the Lake.
  • As you push farther out onto the Lake’s shrouded waters, you will find each encounter to be more difficult, but more rewarding. This difficulty value counts up by one for each location away from the entrance the encounter is. To manipulate this, there are occasional options that can be chosen which allow you to move and swap the entrance, reflections, and water tiles on the tablet.
  • Additionally, as you progress through the league, you’ll be able to unlock special abilities that let you manipulate the options you have available on each tablet. If you don’t like any of the choices available to you, you can earn the ability to skip picking one entirely. The next ability is even stronger – it lets you reroll the list of options so that you can immediately pick another one. Finally, you can earn the ability to Exile a choice entirely. For the rest of this tablet, that choice will no longer appear.
  • Once you reach maps, you’ll be able to itemise your Mirrored Tablets, so that they don’t have to be played immediately. They can be stored for later or traded with other players.
  • Among the many rewards you can find at the lake is a way of acquiring a new variation of rare jewellery. Some reflecting mist offers you two rings or amulets, perfect mirror copies of each other except that on each item, a set of mods is entirely negated, having a detrimental impact on your character. All of the mods on these items are scaled up to much higher values than they would normally be. You may pick only one of these items to take from the lake.

  • A rarer version of this reward can also be found that allows you to bring your own ring or amulet, distorting and reflecting it with the same crafting process. It will certainly be tempting to gamble with some of your best jewellery, to try to double the values that really matter for your build, and negate the ones you don’t care about.
