Watchstones are quest items for the Atlas of Worlds system. There are 32 Watchstones in total. It is introduced in Conquerors of the Atlas expansion.
PoE 3.9 Adds a new mechanic – Watchstones: These can only be obtained by defeating one of the new Atlas bosses. They can be used to raise the tier of all maps in a particular region of the Atlas, causing all maps of those base types to drop at the new higher tier.
Sextants can no longer be applied to individual maps, and no longer have a radius. They are now applied to Watchstones instead, and affect every map in that Watchstone’s region. They are not restricted by map tier, and if two or more Watchstones contain the same Sextant modifier, only one will apply. Also, they’ve been renamed.
By inserting the Watchstones into the altar of the citadel of a region, Map Tier will be increased. For example Beach Map has tiers 1, 4, 8, 10 and 14 depends on how many Watchstones inserted in that region. Unique Watchstones provides additional modifier to the Atlas.
Moreover, if a full set of Watchstones (4 different colours, can be Watchstones that obtained from different regions) is inserted into one region, the Awakening Level of the Atlas will be increased by 1. Since there is 8 sets of Watchstones , the highest possible level of the Awakening Level will be 8.
Cobalt Watchstone is a Watchstone.
Drop from defeating Veritania, the Redeemer. Each region of the Atlas only drop one Cobalt Watchstone.
Veritania, the Redeemer is one of the Elderslayers / Conquerors of the Atlas. She serves as one of the end-game bosses of the Atlas.
The boss does not have an exclusive map. However, upon beating the normal map boss (the map must be offered via Zana’s dialogue), a portal will open, allowing players to access a separate sub-area of the same instance of the map (another arena): Redeemer’s Eyrie. Vaal charges will be carried over to the arena.

|Al-Hezmin, the Hunter||Green||Viridian Watchstone|
|Baran, the Crusader||Red||Crimson Watchstone|
|Drox, the Warlord||Yellow||Golden Watchstone|
|Veritania, the Redeemer||Blue||Cobalt Watchstone|
Players are required to beat the bosses in their citadels of that region in order to acquire the Watchstones. However, if the Watchstone of that region was acquired already, beating the same boss again will not give the second copy of the Watchstone of that region.
Additionally, the final end-game boss, Sirus, Awakener of Worlds, drops unique Ivory Watchstone.
