PoE 3.16 Changes

Phase Acrobatics no longer exists.

PoE 3.16 introduced a new Spell Suppression mechanics. It gives a chance to halve spell damage taken. The chance can be stacked up to 100%. It can be found on Evasion items as well the Dexterity section of the Passive Skill Tree.

Acrobatics has been redesigned. It no longer has any of it's old properties, but now changes any modifiers to Spell Suppression into Spell Dodge at 50% of it's value. The intention is that Acrobatics is the only source in the entire game for Spell Dodge, for characters who would like to benefit from that playstyle still. Spell Dodge is still capped at 75%, and the Keystone Passive will specifically mention this.

Phase Acrobatics

Phase Acrobatics is a keystone passive skill. It grants additional chance to dodge spell hits.

  • 30% Chance to Dodge Spell Hits

Dodge grants a chance to prevent a damaging hit. Damage avoidance is a separate mechanic and is rolled after block.

Dodge Spell Damage

There are two types of dodge:

  • Dodge Attacks applies to attacks. It is rolled after evasion and is not connected to the attacker’s accuracy, so chance to dodge is unaffected by evasion-related mechanics such as blindResolute Technique or Unwavering Stance.
  • Dodge Spell Damage applies to spells. It is rolled before damage mitigation.

Dodge Attacks and Dodge Spell Damage are both capped at 75%.

Chance to Dodge

Chance to Dodge bonuses granted by sources like Acrobatics function similar to evasion, but are rolled separately and are true random rather than entropy-based. Phase Acrobatics grants a chance to dodge spells.

Assuming a character has a 50% chance to evade and a 30% chance to dodge, a character has a 65% chance to prevent receiving a hit.

How to get Phase Acrobatics?

1. Passive Skill Tree

Phase Acrobatics lies on the far right side of the skill tree. It is at the end of a path with Acrobatics and three Acrobatics Improvement nodes.

2. Phase Acrobatics Uniques

These unique items have the Phase Acrobatics modifier, which provides the same effect as this keystone. Taking the keystone in addition to equipping one of these items will impart no additional benefit.

3. Phase Acrobatics Jewel

Thread of Hope Thread of Hope is a unique Crimson Jewel.

  • Small Radius: in the large jewel socket between Ranger and Shadow, Phase Acrobatics can be allocated without allocating Acrobatics. This can be useful if you want to avoid the armour, energy shield, and block reductions.
