Mechanics

This item generates with one implicit each of Eater of Worlds and Searing Exarch pools. The tier of the implicit (and therefore the dominance) is determined based on which boss dropped it. The Black Star generates an Exarch dominated variant while the Infinite Hunger generates an Eater dominated variant.

Malignant Madness

Malignant Madness is a debuff that reduces the action speed and damage of affected targets. It is applied by the monster Tentacle Fiend or applied by the player by using Impresence Impresence.

Which dominanted?

Items with Eldritch Implicits can also have a property of being dominated by one of the Eldritch Horrors. If an item has a higher-tier Searching Exarch mod then it is considered dominated by The Searing Exarch. Conversely, if the mod for The Eater of Worlds is higher tier, then it is considered dominated by The Eater of Worlds.

The Eternal Struggle Build Guide

This new unique item was created by Waggle. It will drop from either The Infinite Hunger or The Black Star. The amulet has a pair of Eldritch mods, and the one that is dominant will be based on which of the bosses dropped it. The dominant mod also controls whether the amulet gives a Malignant Madness or Culling Strike bonus. You’ll need to work out which of the two bosses to farm based on which half of the amulet you want to activate.

Item acquisition

The Eternal Struggle has restrictions on where or how it can drop. It cannot be chanced.
