Totems as allies

Totems allies are not considered to be minions, and are therefore not affected by minion-specific modifiers such as increased Minion Damage and Minion Instability.

Minions must be alive

Minions must be alive with low life for the explosion to work. Anything that causes a minion to die without ever having low life will not cause an explosion.

  • Example – Minions can die from 1 hit taking all their life or die from running out of duration. Neither of these deaths will cause the minions to explode.

Dark Pact

Dark Pact Dark Pact can be used to forcibly lower the life of your Skeleton minions to low life. Doing so will trigger the effect of the Keystone passive Minion Instability. Using Spell Echo Support Spell Echo Support can effectively speed up the rate at which skeleton life is removed, in order to trigger this effect faster.

Item Quantity Support

When linked with a skill that creates a minion, trap, mine, or totem, the item quantity modifier will apply to kills made by the minion/trap/mine/totem. This includes deaths caused by Minion Instability explosions.

Added Cold Damage Support

The cold damage will be added to hits made by any attack skill or spell that hits, or hits made by things such as the area damage explosions from Fireball FireballDetonate Dead Detonate Dead, or Minion Instability. The cold damage will not be added to damage that is not part of a “hit”, such as the Bleeding caused by Puncture Puncture, or the Chaos Damage per second from being Poisoned by Caustic Arrow Caustic Arrow or Viper Strike Viper Strike. The cold damage will however be added to the weapon hits from Puncture PunctureCaustic Arrow Caustic ArrowViper Strike Viper Strike, and any other skill that hits.
