PoE 3.17 Changes

PoE 3.17 removes Mortal Conviction and the life passives from behind the Blood Magic keystone.

PoE 3.17 makes a Mortal Conviction-style support gem that makes an aura free, and prevents you reserving mana. It will be mutually exclusive with Blessing skills, so you won't be able to use both Blessing and Mortal Conviction simultaneously. This support gem provides slightly less aura effect to the skill than the Blessing Support but has no cost or upkeep involved.

Mortal Conviction Keystone

Mortal Conviction is a keystone passive skill. It allows you to reserve mana for one non-Banner aura skill for free, but prevents you from having more than one aura active.

  • Your Non-Banner Skills that create Permanent Auras on you do not Reserve Mana
  • You can only have one Permanent Non-Banner Aura on you from your Skills
  • (Permanent Auras are Auras with no Duration)

Dread Banner Dread Banner and War Banner War Banner are Banner aura skills. Other auras are non-Banner aura skills.

 Mortal Conviction PoE

Auras are cast by reserving mana to maintain their effects. Mana reservation sets aside a portion of mana as unusable for as long as the skill is active. Having mana reserved does not reduce the rate of mana regeneration, so it will reduce the time taken for mana to regenerate to its (temporary) maximum.

1. Passive Skill Tree

Mortal Conviction is located in the bottom left corner of the skill tree, behind the Blood Magic keystone.

2. Mortal Conviction Uniques

These unique items have the Mortal Conviction modifier, which provides the same effect as this keystone. Taking the keystone in addition to equipping one of these items will impart no additional benefit.
