Fallout 76 Gold Bullion Farming, Glitch, Plans, Limit, Wastelanders, Caps

In the Fallout 76 update Wastelanders, Gold bullion is a trade currency. Gold bullion consists of solid bars or ingots of pure, 24 karat gold. Once gold becomes the backbone of most currencies before fiat currencies and rapid inflation, its value is a limited number of precious metals. Even after the first World War, Gold bullion was still accepted by merchants and traders specializing in gold.

The currency is used to trade late game plans and recipes with gold bullion traders at Crater and Foundation and with Vault 79. These traders include Regs, Samuel, and Mortimer.

Fallout 76 Gold Bullion

1. Gold Bullion Limit

Fallout 76’s Gold Bullion limit is capped at 1,700 per week and 5000 per character. Trading in treasury notes at this point will cause the gold bullion that was supposed to be received to be deleted. It will not be replaced if lost. The following is the maximum amount of Gold Bullion Caps:

  • 5,000 Gold Bullion per character maximum allowed.
  • You can obtain a maximum amount of 1,700 Gold Buillion per week.
  • Smiley has a cap of 300 Gold Bullion per week that are able to be exchanged.

2. How to Unlock Gold Bullion

After completion of the Wastelanders main questline, gold bullion will become available:

  • Earned as a reward for completing Secrets Revealed, the last quest in the Wastelanders questline.
  • Obtained by trading in treasury notes earned from events and daily quests at gold press machines.
  • Purchased from Smiley at the Wayward at a price of 1,000 caps per 50 ingots, up to a weekly limit of 300 bullion.
  • A total limit of 200 gold bullion can be gained per day from treasury notes per character, with an additional 300 gold bullion being purchased from Smiley per week.

3. Fallout 76 Gold Bullion Farming and Glitch

There are two main ways for farming Gold Bullion:

  • Gold Bullion can be purchased directly from a vendor in the Wayward using Caps, up to a weekly limit.
  • By exchanging Treasury Notes at Gold Press Machines, up to a daily limit.
  • Treasury Notes can be earned from Wastelanders daily quests and by completing Public Events.

3.1 Exchange Caps for Gold Bullion

Go to The Wayward, look for Smiley. If you have caps, to be precise, he is willing to trade your Gold Bullion: 1000 Caps.

Smiley will exchange 1000 caps for 50 gold bullion.

You can exchange 300 Gold Bullion with him a week, which means you need 6000 caps to get the maximum amount from him every week.

3.2 Press Treasury Notes into Gold Bullion

You need to do this on Gold Press Machines, which you can easily find in the Crater or Foundation.

Treasure Notes can be obtained by conducting public activities (two Treasury Notes each) or by doing quests for either the Settlers or Raider factions (three Treasury Notes each).

You can exchange one Treasury Note for 10 Gold Bullion at a Gold Press and up to 200 Gold Bullion per day.

4. Gold Bullion Vendors

There are three Gold Bullion Vendors located at the Crater, Foundation, and another in a location players will unlock during the main story. Each vendor will offer a different set of new Wastelanders items in exchange for Gold Bullion.

  • The first is at the Crater, found on the north side of the map. It’s to the west of Prickett’s Fort. You need to speak to Mortimer who is in the Crater Core building that leads underground.
  • The second is at the Foundation, found in the south part of the map. It’s at the Spruce Knob Campground. You need to speak to Samuel who is at the sign showing where you need to go to find the Underground HQ Main Elevator and the Guest Rooms.
  • The third is at Vault 79, found on the northeast side of the map. It’s to the east of Bailey Family Cabin. You need to speak to Regs who is underground, to the left of where you walk into the vault, and he’s standing next to Slick.

5. Best items to buy with Gold Bullion

Personally, I’m trying to build the Secret Service Armor, which may be the only way I can use Gold Bullion. My level is 101, but according to my build, power armor is still needed in most high-level areas. Therefore, I’ve been looking for a way to keep my build without having to use power amplifiers often. SS armor is not a PA anyway, but it’s much more flexible, doesn’t need a core, and is legendary when it’s made. If you spread Gold Bullion and try to get more than one function, it will take longer until you have done everything you need. Since the vault opened, I’ve been very energetic every day. So far I’ve bought my left and right arms. I crafted six until I got the legendary perk I wanted, which is better than RNG. The downside is that I can’t sell anything. I have 15 arms in my stash, but I can exchange them for scrip.

SS armor is another choice.
