Vampiric Link – Path of Exile

Vampiric Link is a link skill.

Targets an allied player to apply a buff which links you to them for a duration. While linked, they get recovery from your life leech instead of you. If the target dies while linked, you will also die. This skill cannot be triggered, or used by Totems, Traps, or Mines.Your maximum total recovery per second from life leech is higher, and is copied to the linked target. The linked target recovers from your life leech instead of you.You get the recovery when the link"s source leeches life. You use their maximum total recovery per second from life leech.

Spell, Duration, Link. Level: 1–20. Cost: 15–32.67 Mana per second. Cast Time: 0.50 sec. Requires Level 34.

Base duration is (8–9.9) seconds
Life Leech effects are not removed at Full Life
Life Leech effects apply Recovery Linked Target instead of you
Linked target"s Maximum total Life Recovery per second from Leech is equal to yours
Buff grants +(2–5.8)% to Maximum total Life Recovery per second from Leech
Link breaks if target leaves range or line of sight for 4 seconds
Maximum 1 Link from any source per target
You die if Linked target dies

Tip: This new gem is designed for party play. This skill creates a bond between you and a specific party member, providing a big benefit to them while they stay within range, but with the very important drawback that if they die, so do you.

Let’s take a level 1 gem as an example:

It is useful for party play. It can link one party member.
The base duration is 8 seconds.
It grants your target additional Life Leech. When lined, your party member’s life recovery from leech is equal to yours.
Vaal Pact keystone: Maximum total Life Recovery per second from Leech is doubled.
Defy Pain is the Berserker ascendancy notable: 50% increased Maximum total Life Recovery per second from Leech while you have Defiance.
Mastery: Leech Mastery, Link Mastery.
It cannot be used by Totems, Traps, or Mines.
Cannot normally be used with your minions. Minion Defence Mastery(Link Skills can target Minions) passive skill allows you to use this skill with them. However, this has a high ongoing mana cost that is difficult to stay on top of.
Note that if your party member die, you will die.
