Suffixes Cannot Be Changed PoE

Using the Suffixes Cannot Be Changed meta-crafting mod to combine multiple other meta-crafting mods allows for even more control of the item. This way the player can often limit the pool of possible mods so that outcome of the craft is almost guaranteed.

Note:Suffixes are protected against Chaos Orb, Orb of Annulment, Divine Orb, Veiled Chaos Orb, Harvest reforges and Orb of Scouring. But are not protected against rerolls via essence, fossil, Maven's Orb, or Awakener's Orb.

The 'Suffixes Cannot Be Changed' is a also a prefix, so it will be rerolled. 

  1. Orb of Scouring respects the meta-crafting mod. Orb of Scouring removes all random modifiers from a magic or rare piece of equipment. Implicit modifiers, quality, sockets, and links are not removed, as well as affixes protected by meta-crafting mods. This way, players can lock in modifiers without losing all the other modifiers. The better approach is where you have 3 desirable (and preferably, rare) suffixes on the item after scouring. 
  2. Chaos Orb respects the meta-crafting mod. If you put 'Suffixes cannot be changed' and use a Chaos Orb on the item, it will keep the suffixes and reroll new prefixes. Note that the "suffixes cannot be changed" is also a prefix and will be removed. Chaos spam is more random and cost-inefficient than the alt-aug-regal-scour or alc-scour methods. Also, since your 'cannot change suffix' mod is removed upon scouring, you'll need to add it on again afterward to protect your mod against your next chaos application and so on for each chaos. The risk of adding bad prefixes with no easy way to remove them is also not something I would accept.
  3. Essence ignores the meta-crafting mod. Using an essence on an item with a meta-crafting mod will ignore that mod and overwrite existing prefixes and suffixes ignoring any restrictions.
  4. Fossil ignores the meta-crafting mod. Using a fossil + resonator on an item with a meta-crafting mod will ignore that mod and overwrite existing prefixes and suffixes ignoring any restrictions.
  5. Orb of Annulment respects the meta-crafting mods. It won't remove a suffix while the "Suffixes Cannot Be Changed" is on the item but it can remove the "Suffixes Cannot Be Changed" mods. This means that if you annul the item, you could potentially waste exalts because you annul the 'cannot change suffix' mod and have to craft it again. This is why nobody ever does that. If you want to mod prefixes, you scour.
  6. Divine Orb respects the meta-crafting mod.
  7. Veiled Chaos Orb respects prefixes/suffixes cannot be change.
  8. Harvest reforges respect prefixes/suffixes cannot be change. 
  9. Awakener's Orb now ignores Mastercrafting Metamods.
  10. Maven's Orb now ignores Mastercrafting Metamods. Legacy modifiers or modifiers that can't be changed (e.g. suffixes on an item with the "Suffixes can't be changed" mod) will not be affected.

Also, note that the meta-crafting mod occupies a prefix slot so after removing it you'll have a prefix slot to fill via Exalted Orb.

  • 17(17-19)% Increased Cast Speed
  • +35(30-35)% To Fire Resistance
  • 14(10-19)% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate

These are all suffixes. We don't care for the other modifiers. In this case, we can craft the (Suffixes Cannot Be Changed) to protect these mods and reroll the prefixes. Note that this meta-crafing mod is also a prefix, so it will be wiped in the process.
