PoE Soul Eater Buff 3.24

  • The Soul Eater buff has been reworked. There is now a maximum number of 45 souls that can be consumed, with each soul providing 5% increased Attack and Cast Speed. For monsters, this buff also provides 2% less Damage Taken per soul consumed. 1 soul is lost every 0.5 seconds if you have not gained any souls recently.

Path of Exile 3.24: Soul Eater Buff Gets a Revamp

The Soul Eater buff in Path of Exile has undergone a significant rework in version 3.24. Here's a breakdown of the changes and how they might affect your gameplay:

Previously:

  • Soul Eater offered an unlimited number of stacks, providing a small buff to attack and cast speed per stack.

Changes in 3.24:

  • Stack Cap: There's now a hard limit of 45 Souls you can consume with Soul Eater.
  • Buff per Soul: Each Soul now grants a more impactful 5% increased Attack and Cast Speed.
  • Monster Benefit: Monsters gaining Soul Eater also receive 2% less damage taken per Soul consumed.
  • Soul Decay: If you don't gain a new Soul within 0.5 seconds, you lose 1 Soul.

Impact on Players:

  • Strategic Soul Acquisition: With a limited number of Souls, players need to focus on efficient monster killing to maintain the maximum buff. Area of effect (AoE) skills and builds that excel at clearing large packs might benefit more.
  • Clear Speed Potential: The increased buff per Soul can significantly boost your attack and cast speed, potentially enhancing your clear speed in maps.
  • Build Considerations: Builds that heavily rely on attack or cast speed for damage output might see a noticeable improvement with the Soul Eater buff.

Overall:

The Soul Eater rework in Path of Exile 3.24 offers a more impactful buff but requires a more strategic approach to maintaining it. Consider your build's strengths, area clearing capabilities, and reliance on attack/cast speed when evaluating how this change affects your gameplay.

Soul eater buff will persist until the original source creating it expires. Therefore the player character can’t gain soul eater buff while they already have soul eater buff and can’t refresh buff duration until its expires and loses all stacks. When having this buff, there is no cap on how many soul stacked.

Soul eater has a limited radius of 60 units. Killing enemies farther away than this will not give stacks.
