WoW SoD Warlock New Runes Phase 2

With Invocation, when you refresh some of your damage over time effects while they have less than 6 seconds remaining, instant damage will be dealt to your target equal to one tick of that spell’s periodic damage. So, you no longer have to worry about refreshing your damage over time (DoT) spells at the perfect moment.

Dance of the Wicked will trigger a buff which increases you and your pets’ dodge chance any time either of you deal a critical strike to an enemy. You will also gain 2% of your maximum mana when this occurs.

WoW SoD Warlock New Runes Phase 2

WoW Classic Season of Discovery Gold

Ah, the Warlock’s new toys for SoD Phase 2! Both Invocation and Dance of the Wicked introduce innovative mechanics that have the potential to shake up the Warlock gameplay in exciting ways. Let’s take a look at their potential impact:

Invocation:

  • DoT Refresh Optimization: No more agonizing over the perfect DoT refresh timing! This rune allows you to refresh your DoTs even with minimal remaining duration, dealing bonus damage equal to one tick. This not only simplifies the rotation but also potentially increases overall DPS depending on how it’s integrated.
  • Burst Potential: By strategically refreshing DoTs just before they expire, you can create mini-bursts of damage throughout your rotation, adding another layer of complexity and potential optimization.
  • Talent Synergy: Talents like Improved Shadow Bolt and Pandemic will benefit greatly from the burst potential enabled by Invocation.

Dance of the Wicked:

  • Enhanced Crit Focus: This rune encourages a heavy focus on critical strikes, rewarding you with increased dodge chance for yourself and your pets along with mana regeneration.
  • Survivability and Resource Management: The dodge buff adds much-needed survivability against heavy-hitting melee enemies, while the mana gain helps sustain longer encounters.
  • Pet Synergy: Demonology builds will potentially shine with this rune, maximizing the buff uptime and mana benefits due to having multiple crit sources (including the demon pet).

Choosing between these runes depends on your preferred playstyle, encounter dynamics, and gear. Here are some considerations:

  • For pure DPS maximization: Invocation might be the preferred choice, especially in encounters where maximizing DoT uptime is crucial.
  • For a more survivability-focused approach: Dance of the Wicked shines in encounters with heavy physical damage or where mana management is important.
  • Hybrid approach: Don’t shy away from experimenting! The beauty of runes lies in their flexibility. You can adapt your choice based on the boss mechanics, party composition, and personal preference.

Remember, Phase 2 is still on the horizon, so experimentation and theorycrafting are encouraged! Get ready to unleash the Warlock’s true potential with these exciting new tools at your disposal.
