If you followed the instructions closely and did everything right, Lords of the Fallen should now look much better on PlayStation 5, with darker blacks and better colours overall. The image should also look crispier overall.
Obviously, this is not an ideal solution and cannot replace a true HDR implementation but it’s certainly better than having a washed-out image. Hopefully, Hexworks will provide a fix to this issue on PS5 sooner rather than later.
It’s not broken. You probably have something setup wrong in NVCP or windows settings. The HDR works as it should and identically to other native HDR implementations. If anything is greyed out it’s either due to frame gen being on which grays out vsync and if screen res is greyed out you need to switch window mode. Game runs flawlessly for me on a 4080/i9 at 4k with DLAA or DLSS Qualtiy. 85FPS minimum at native 4k with DLAA and Frame Gen, or 100FPS minimum with DLSS Quality and Frame Gen. This is how your system should be running!
Instead of using Engine standards, we have established our own custom range for HDR max luminance to enhance the visual quality of the HDR output across all platforms.
