Iron Grip

Iron Grip is a keystone passive skill. It applies the physical damage bonus from strength to projectile attacks as well as melee attacks. Strength’s Damage bonus applies to Projectile Attack Damage as well as Melee Damage Every 10 points of strength give a 2% bonus to physical damage from melee attacks. The Iron Grip keystone passive extends this bonus to also apply to physical damage from projectiles. The  Iron Grip Support gem applies the same effect to a single skill.

Caustic Arrow

Caustic Arrow is a bow attack that fires an arrow dealing chaos damage and spreading caustic ground.

The strength bonus from the Iron Grip keystone passive does not affect the damage from caustic ground because it is not considered an attack nor is it based on physical damage. The increased projectile damage portion of the  Iron Grip Support will increase the damage from caustic ground, but the strength bonus the support gem shares with the keystone will not apply.

Lightning Strike

Lightning Strike is a melee strike attack skill that converts physical damage to lightning damage.

Taking iron grip will apply Strength damage bonus to projectile portion of attack. Without iron grip only the melee portion of attack receives damage bonus from Strength.

How to get Iron Grip?

1. Passive Skill Tree

Iron Grip is a standalone keystone located on the south side of the tree, in the outer part of the Duelist’s area.

2. Iron Grip Uniques

These unique items have the Iron Grip modifier, which provides the same effect as this keystone. Taking the keystone in addition to equipping one of these items will impart no additional benefit.
