Innervate Support

Innervate Support Innervate Support is a support gem that grants supported skills added lightning damage a chance to shock their targets, and applies the Innervation buff on the player when killing a shocked enemy, granting additional lightning damage.

Note that the innervate buff will not be applied when a totem kills the enemy.

Supports any skill you use to hit enemies yourself. Cannot support skills used by totems, traps, or mines.

Lightning, Support, Duration. Level: 1–20. Cost & Reservation Multiplier: 120%. Requires Level 31.

  • Innervation grants (1–8) to (17–145) Lightning Damage
  • Innervation lasts 8 seconds
  • Supported Skills have 20% chance to Shock
  • Supported Skills have (2–14) to (29–251) added Lightning Damage

This is a Support Gem. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Active Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket.

Skill function and interactions

Comparison with Added Lightning Damage Support:

  • The mana multipliers are the same.
  • Innervate Support grants much lower damage (about 60%), but the Innervation buff almost completely compensates the difference (about 1.5%).
  • The Innervation buff is not limited to supported skills. It will buff any attack and spell.
  • Innervate also grants 20% chance to shock.
  • While Added Lightning Damage Support's quality grants damage, Innervate Support's quality grants shock duration.

Because the Innervation applies to all attacks and spells, it is wise to use this gem with a side, AoE skill. Shock then kill an enemy to gain Innervation, then switch to your main skill for maximum damage for 8 seconds. Duration of Innervation is affected by Skill effect duration modifiers, including things like Brand-specific modifiers when supporting any Brand skill.
