FFXIV Best DPS 2021

DPS (Damage Dealers) include physical and magical damage. Both are aimed at dealing damage in a plethora of ways: precise single-target attacks, area bursts, damage-over-time, summon spells, magical area spells, etc. Some DPS jobs also have healing and tanking properties, but these are very occasional and are not the main focus on endgame content. This role can be identified by the red-colored class/job golden frame icon.

DPS is divided into:

  • Melee DPS — Classes/jobs that perform closed range attacks and abilities.
  • Physical Ranged DPS — Classes/jobs that perform physical ranged attacks.

Reaper Reaper Melee DPS 80 The Reaper Reaper is a Disciple of War Melee DPS job introduced in Endwalker.

Machinist Machinist Physical Ranged DPS 90 Machinists are gun-toting tinkerers that specialize in blasting foes in rapid succession, building up their Heat gauge, which is used to fuel their abilities further. They can also deploy an automaton to assist the player in combat temporarily.
Dancer Dancer Physical Ranged DPSa 86 The Dancer Dancer is a highly-mobile job providing damage, utility and support capabilities to those around them while slicing their enemies with their vicious throwing weapons like chakrams. Dancers can also choose a party member as their Dance Partner, causing some of their skill’s effects to activate on the selected player.
Black Mage Black Mage Magical Ranged DPS 93 Black Mages resemble the classical elemental mage, trading defense and mobility for unmatched area spells. Their unique mechanics revolve around balancing Astral Fire and Umbral Ice to mitigate MP consumption while dealing massive damage with offensive fire, ice and lightning magicks.
Summoner Summoner Magical Ranged DPS 87 Summoners conjure one of three battle-pets into the fray and bombard their enemies with devastating damage-over-time effects, as well as other abilities performed through their use of aetherflow. Summoner Summoner, like Red Mage Red Mage, is also one of the few DPS jobs that can resurrect fallen allies in combat.
Red Mage Red Mage Magical Ranged DPS 70 The Red Mage Red Mage is a versatile class capable of using both magic and weapon skills effectively. The class focuses on building and balancing white and black mana by casting magic, then expending them on their melee rapier skills to deal a finishing blow. In addition to dealing damage, Red Mages can learn healing magic and can even raise fallen party members.
Blue Mage Blue Mage Magical Ranged DPS 70 Blue Mage Blue Mages learn skills by copying the abilities of their defeated enemies. They have access to a wide variety of spells, which make them more and more versatile and powerful as they learn. However, their status as a Limited Job restricts their access to content.

3.7 Machinist

3.10 Summoner

The Arcanist Arcanist’s Guild is in the Marine City of Limsa Lominsa. Arcanists may choose to specialize into summoner once they reach level 30, and complete the quests Sylph-management and Sinking Doesmaga.

3.11 Red Mage

Red Mages were born out of a long conflict between the nations of Mhach and Amdapor. These fierce mages combine black and white magic to twist the battlefield, and strive where others otherwise would fail. Armed with rapiers and a magicked crystal medium, red mages are fit for quick combos of magic spells and steel-infused blows.

The Red Mage Red Mage’s advancement is through an NPC in Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (x14.1,y11.7). This job starts at level 50.
