Heist enchantments are powerful item modifiers in Path of Exile that improve weapons and body armour by increasing the magnitude of specific explicit modifiers, changing attribute requirements, modifying sockets, or allowing additional crafted modifiers.
Players can obtain enchanted equipment from Grand Heist Curio Displays or apply enchantments using two special currency items: Tempering Orbs for weapons and Tailoring Orbs for body armour.
Unlike ordinary crafting modifiers, enchantments occupy a separate modifier slot. Some provide straightforward upgrades, while others offer stronger benefits in exchange for significant penalties.
This guide explains how Heist enchantments work in PoE 3.29, how to obtain and apply them, which modifiers are useful, how they interact with Harvest enchantments, and what changed in the latest expansion.
1. What Changed to Heist Enchantments in PoE 3.29?
The July 24, 2026 release of Path of Exile 3.29 introduced major changes to equipment sockets and their interactions with enchantments.
The most important change is that Heist enchantments related to White Sockets, as well as enchantments that force every socket to be Red, Green, or Blue, are no longer generated by Heist rewards, Tempering Orbs, or Tailoring Orbs.
The wider socket changes also introduced the following mechanics:
- Skill gems can be placed into equipment sockets regardless of matching socket colours.
- Matching a gem’s colour to a Red, Green, or Blue socket grants that gem +10% Quality.
- Newly generated equipment sockets are White by default, although some may generate as coloured sockets.
- Chromatic Orbs and related socket-crafting mechanics have been updated.
These changes make many older Heist enchantment lists outdated. Older guides may still display White Socket enchantments and single-colour socket restrictions as available outcomes, even though those outcomes were removed from the current generation pool in 3.29.
Existing legacy items should be evaluated separately from newly obtainable equipment.
2. Heist Enchantment Currency: Tempering Orb and Tailoring Orb
Two Heist-specific currencies are responsible for applying these enchantments.
| Currency | Equipment | Effect |
|---|---|---|
|
Tempering Orb |
Weapons |
Adds or replaces a weapon enchantment. May reforge sockets. |
|
Tailoring Orb |
Body Armour |
Adds or replaces a body armour enchantment. May reforge sockets. |
How to Use a Tempering Orb
- Obtain a Tempering Orb from Grand Heists or trading.
- Select a weapon that can receive an enchantment.
- Right-click the Tempering Orb.
- Left-click the weapon to apply a random eligible enchantment.
- Inspect the resulting modifier and socket configuration.
Using another Tempering Orb replaces the existing enchantment rather than adding a second one.
How to Use a Tailoring Orb
The process is similar:
- Obtain a Tailoring Orb.
- Select an eligible body armour item.
- Use the orb on the body armour.
- Check the enchantment, attribute requirements, sockets, and links.
- Decide whether to keep the outcome or reroll it.
Some socket-related enchantments can change an item’s socket configuration. Consequently, applying these currencies to valuable equipment requires care.
Tailoring Orbs also cannot be used on certain body armour items with fixed socket configurations, including Kaom’s Heart, Replica Kaom’s Heart, Skin of the Loyal, and Skin of the Lords.
Important Enchantment Rules
Heist enchantments are separate from ordinary prefixes, suffixes, and implicit modifiers.
An item generally has only one enchantment slot. Applying another enchantment replaces the previous one, including when changing between eligible Harvest and Heist enchantments.
Enchantments normally have fixed values and cannot be improved with Blessed Orbs. Eligible, non-corrupted items can have enchantments removed through the relevant Crafting Bench option.
3. How Do Heist Enchantment Modifiers Work?
Heist enchantments generally fall into four categories: modifier magnitude bonuses, hybrid modifiers, socket-related effects, and special crafting effects.
Modifier Magnitude Bonuses
These enchantments increase the numerical strength of explicit modifiers with particular tags.
For example, suppose a body armour has:
- +100 to Maximum Life
- An enchantment granting 8% increased Explicit Life Modifier magnitudes
The life modifier would become approximately +108, assuming no other relevant magnitude adjustments.
Similarly, a weapon with an eligible +100% increased Physical Damage modifier and an 8% Physical modifier magnitude enchantment would receive a stronger modifier.
The enchantment changes the explicit modifier’s magnitude. It does not simply grant a separate 8% increased damage or life bonus to the character.
Hybrid Enchantments
Hybrid enchantments combine two or more effects.
For example:
6% increased Explicit Life Modifier magnitudes
6% increased Explicit Resistance Modifier magnitudes
This type of enchantment can improve two useful modifier categories simultaneously.
Other combinations offer a stronger bonus but impose a penalty, such as greatly increased attribute requirements or reduced magnitudes for another modifier category.
Socket-Related Enchantments
Some Heist enchantments affect the number or linking of sockets.
Examples include:
| Enchantment Effect | Meaning |
|---|---|
|
All Sockets Linked |
All existing sockets are linked |
|
-3 to maximum Sockets |
Reduces the item’s maximum sockets by three |
|
Has no Red Sockets |
Prevents red sockets on the item |
|
Has no Blue Sockets |
Prevents blue sockets on the item |
|
Has no Green Sockets |
Prevents green sockets on the item |
The socket-restriction effects should be distinguished from the removed enchantments that made all sockets a single colour.
Importantly, All Sockets Linked does not add sockets. An item with three sockets still has three sockets; they are simply linked together.
On the other hand, a modifier reducing the maximum number of sockets can be extremely restrictive, particularly for body armour or two-handed weapons.
Additional Crafted Modifier Enchantments
One of the most interesting Heist enchantments provides:
Can have 1 additional Crafted Modifier
This enchantment is listed at item level 80 in the weapon and body armour modifier pools.
It can provide extra flexibility when crafting equipment, although it does not automatically add another modifier or bypass other applicable crafting restrictions.
The value of this enchantment depends on the remaining affix space, crafting costs, and the specific item being built.
4. List of Heist Weapon Enchantment Modifiers
Weapon enchantments can affect offensive stats, attributes, mana, critical modifiers, ailments, and sockets.
The following table summarizes the main weapon modifier families.
| Weapon Modifier Category | Basic Enchantment Effect | Listed Minimum Level |
|---|---|---|
|
Physical |
8% increased Explicit Physical Modifier magnitudes |
1 |
|
Fire |
8% increased Explicit Fire Modifier magnitudes |
1 |
|
Cold |
8% increased Explicit Cold Modifier magnitudes |

8% increased Explicit Attribute Modifier magnitudes |
20 |
|
Speed |
8% increased Explicit Speed Modifier magnitudes |
70 |
|
Critical |
8% increased Explicit Critical Modifier magnitudes |
70 |
These are basic entries in the modifier database, not the complete list of every combination. The listed level refers to modifier generation requirements rather than the level of the enchantment currency.
Hybrid Weapon Enchantments
Weapon enchantments can also combine two modifier categories, including:
| Example Combination | Enchantment Effects |
|---|---|
|
Physical + Speed |
6% increased Physical and Speed modifier magnitudes |
|
Fire + Critical |
6% increased Fire and Critical modifier magnitudes |
|
Cold + Ailment |
6% increased Cold and Ailment modifier magnitudes |
|
Chaos + Attribute |
6% increased Chaos and Attribute modifier magnitudes |
|
Caster Damage + Speed |
6% increased Caster Damage and Speed modifier magnitudes |
|
Mana + Attribute |
6% increased Mana and Attribute modifier magnitudes |
Some combinations have higher modifier level requirements than the basic entries.
High-Reward Weapon Enchantments With Penalties
Stronger enchantments sometimes come with substantial drawbacks.
| Enchantment | Benefit | Drawback |
|---|---|---|
|
Physical Modifier Effect and Attribute Requirement Penalty |
15% increased Physical modifier magnitudes |
200% increased Attribute Requirements |
|
Fire Modifier Effect and Critical Modifier Effect Penalty |
10% increased Fire modifier magnitudes |
25% reduced Critical modifier magnitudes |
|
Caster Damage Modifier Effect and Speed Modifier Effect Penalty |
10% increased Caster Damage modifier magnitudes |
25% reduced Speed modifier magnitudes |
|
Attribute Modifier Effect and Damage Modifier Effect Penalty |
12% increased Attribute modifier magnitudes |
25% reduced Damage modifier magnitudes |
|
Physical Modifier Effect and Socket Penalty |
15% increased Physical modifier magnitudes |
-3 to maximum Sockets |
These trade-offs can make a seemingly powerful enchantment unsuitable for a particular build.
For example, a spellcaster relying heavily on cast speed may gain less overall damage from a Caster Damage enchantment that simultaneously reduces Speed modifier magnitudes.
Likewise, a melee weapon with increased attribute requirements may become impossible to equip without additional Strength or Dexterity investment.
The best enchantment is therefore not necessarily the one with the highest percentage.
For the full modifier database, see the PoE Wiki Heist weapon enchantment list . Note that the indexed list contains older socket-related entries that must be interpreted alongside the 3.29 changes.
5. List of Heist Body Armour Enchantment Modifiers
Body armour enchantments focus more heavily on survivability, resource scaling, resistance, attributes, and socket functionality.
Basic Body Armour Enchantments
| Enchantment | Effect | Listed Minimum Level |
|---|---|---|
|
Attribute Modifier Effect |
8% increased Explicit Attribute Modifier magnitudes |
1 |
|
Defence Modifier Effect |
8% increased Explicit Defence Modifier magnitudes |

|
Additional Crafting Modifier |
Can have 1 additional Crafted Modifier |
80 |
Hybrid Body Armour Enchantments
Body armour can also receive enchantments affecting multiple modifier categories.
| Example Enchantment | Effect |
|---|---|
|
Life Modifier Effect and Resistance Modifier Effect |
6% increased Life and Resistance modifier magnitudes |
|
Defence Modifier Effect and Attribute Modifier Effect |
6% increased Defence and Attribute modifier magnitudes |
|
Defence Modifier Effect and Resistance Modifier Effect |
6% increased Defence and Resistance modifier magnitudes |
|
Life Modifier Effect and Attribute Requirements |
6% increased Life modifier magnitudes and 25% reduced Attribute Requirements |
|
Mana Modifier Effect and Resistance Modifier Effect |
6% increased Mana and Resistance modifier magnitudes |
|
Attribute Modifier Effect and Defence Modifier Effect Penalty |
12% increased Attribute modifier magnitudes and 50% reduced Defence modifier magnitudes |
|
Life Modifier Effect and Socket Penalty |
15% increased Life modifier magnitudes and -3 to maximum Sockets |
|
Resistance Modifier Effect and Life Modifier Effect Penalty |
12% increased Resistance modifier magnitudes and 50% reduced Life modifier magnitudes |
The modifier family matters as much as the percentage. A 6% bonus affecting two important stats can sometimes outperform a 15% bonus that weakens another essential part of the item.
Which Body Armour Enchantments Are Best?
Life-based characters: A Life modifier magnitude enchantment is a straightforward option when the body armour has valuable explicit Life modifiers.
Energy Shield characters: Defence modifier magnitude enchantments deserve consideration because Energy Shield-related explicit defences can benefit when their modifier tags match.
Resistance-focused equipment: Resistance modifier magnitude enchantments can improve resistance rolls, potentially allowing another equipment slot to prioritize other statistics.
Attribute-stacking builds: Attribute modifier magnitude enchantments are especially interesting on items with significant explicit Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence modifiers.
Crafting-focused equipment: An additional crafted modifier enchantment may allow greater flexibility when finishing an item.
For the complete database, see the PoE Wiki Heist body armour enchantment list . As with the weapon list, some historically documented socket outcomes are no longer obtainable in 3.29.
6. How to Obtain Heist Enchantments From Grand Heists
Grand Heists remain an important source of enchanted equipment and Heist enchantment currency in PoE 3.29.
Step 1: Obtain a Blueprint
Blueprints can be obtained through Heist-related content and trading.
The original Heist system associated Enchanted Armaments with specific Blueprint area types, such as Bunker, Records Office, and Mansion.
However, this is no longer an exclusive restriction.
Since version 3.23, Grand Heist end rewards no longer depend on the Blueprint area type. Blueprint area types still influence other characteristics, including reward chests and required Rogue jobs.
Therefore, you do not need to restrict your search exclusively to the three historical Enchanted Armaments Blueprint layouts.
Step 2: Prepare the Blueprint
Visit the Rogue Harbour and prepare your Blueprint.
Depending on the Blueprint, preparation can involve revealing wings, escape routes, and reward rooms, as well as assigning eligible Rogues to the required jobs.
Revealing additional wings provides more opportunities to reach final reward rooms, but also requires additional resources.
Step 3: Complete the Grand Heist
Enter the Grand Heist, complete the necessary Rogue interactions, and reach the final reward room.
Each wing presents multiple Curio Displays. You can select one final reward from the available displays.
Possible rewards include valuable currency, replica unique items, experimented equipment, and enchanted armaments.
When enchanted equipment appears, inspect both its explicit modifiers and its enchantment before taking it.
Step 4: Look for Tempering Orbs, Tailoring Orbs, and Enchanted Items
The most relevant rewards for this guide are:
- Tempering Orbs
- Tailoring Orbs
- Rare weapons with Heist enchantments
- Rare body armour with Heist enchantments
A rare item is valuable only when its overall combination of base type, item level, explicit modifiers, enchantment, and socket configuration is useful.
A strong enchantment does not automatically make a weak rare item expensive.
Step 5: Use Special Enchanted Blueprints When Available
In version 3.29, special Blueprint enchantments can force particular Heist target categories.
One relevant outcome is:
Heist Targets are always Enchanted Armaments
This can be useful for players specifically seeking enchanted equipment instead of relying on the normal mixed Curio reward pool.
However, special Blueprints may carry a premium on the trade market. Compare the cost of acquiring one against the expected value of the rewards before farming them.
The return of these special Blueprint enchantments in 3.29 is documented in current Heist farming guidance.
7. Harvest Weapon Enchantments vs. Heist Weapon Enchantments
Harvest provides another way to enchant equipment, but its mechanics differ from those of Heist.
Heist enchantments generally increase explicit modifier magnitudes or change other item properties.
Harvest enchantments instead change how an item’s quality contributes to its stats.
List of Harvest Weapon Enchantments
The Horticrafting Station offers the following weapon quality enchantments.
| Harvest Weapon Enchantment | Effect |
|---|---|
|
Accuracy |
1% increased Accuracy per 2% Quality |
|
Area of Effect |
1% increased Area of Effect per 4% Quality |
|
Elemental Damage |
1% increased Elemental Damage per 2% Quality |
|
Critical Strike Chance |
1% increased Critical Strike Chance per 4% Quality |
|
Attack Speed |
1% increased Attack Speed per 8% Quality |
|
Melee Weapon Range |
+0.1 metres to Weapon Range per 10% Quality |
These enchantments replace the normal Physical Damage benefit of weapon quality.
For example, a weapon with 20% Quality and the Elemental Damage Harvest enchantment receives an increased Elemental Damage bonus based on that quality rather than the usual Physical Damage quality benefit.
How to Craft Harvest Weapon Enchantments
The original Harvest league used seeds and monsters such as Wild Brambleback to obtain these crafting effects.
The modern system uses the Horticrafting Station and Crystallised Lifeforce.
The documented weapon enchantment recipes cost 5,000 Crystallised Lifeforce of the relevant type.
Unlike randomly applying a Tempering Orb, Harvest crafting allows players to select a particular quality-related enchantment from the available recipes.
This makes Harvest a more targeted option when the build requires a specific quality conversion effect.
8. List of Harvest Body Armour Enchantments
Harvest body armour enchantments replace the defensive benefit normally provided by armour quality.
The available options include:
| Harvest Body Armour Enchantment | Effect |
|---|---|
|
Maximum Life |
+1 Maximum Life per 2% Quality |
|
Maximum Mana |
+1 Maximum Mana per 2% Quality |
|
Strength |
+1 Strength per 2% Quality |
|
Dexterity |
+1 Dexterity per 2% Quality |
|
Intelligence |
+1 Intelligence per 2% Quality |
|
Fire Resistance |
+1% Fire Resistance per 2% Quality |
|
Cold Resistance |
+1% Cold Resistance per 2% Quality |
|
Lightning Resistance |
+1% Lightning Resistance per 2% Quality |
These crafts provide predictable bonuses based on item quality.
For example, 20% Quality with the Maximum Life enchantment grants +10 Maximum Life through the Harvest quality conversion.
However, the armour no longer receives its normal defensive improvement from quality.
The documented Horticrafting Station cost for these body armour enchantments is 3,250 Crystallised Lifeforce of the appropriate type.
Players should confirm the current recipe and available resources at the Horticrafting Station before applying the craft.
9. Heist Enchantment Modification: How to Choose the Right Modifier
Selecting a useful enchantment requires understanding the modifier tags on the item and how the enchantment interacts with the character’s build.
Match the Enchantment to the Item’s Explicit Modifiers
An enchantment increasing Physical modifier magnitudes is most useful when the item has important Physical-tagged explicit modifiers.
Similarly, a Life modifier enchantment needs relevant Life-tagged modifiers to provide value.
Applying an enchantment with no meaningful matching modifiers can waste an expensive crafting opportunity.
Evaluate the Entire Item, Not Just the Enchantment
A good enchantment on a poorly rolled item may still be less valuable than an ordinary item with strong explicit modifiers.
Evaluate the base type, item level, existing affixes, modifier tiers, socket count, and linking before deciding whether to keep an enchanted item.
Consider the Penalty Before Selecting a High-Magnitude Effect
Some Heist enchantments offer 12% or 15% increased modifier magnitudes but penalize other important properties.
For example, 200% increased Attribute Requirements can make equipment difficult to use.
A penalty reducing Life or Defence modifier magnitudes may seriously weaken an otherwise strong defensive item.
The maximum-socket penalty is particularly important on body armour and two-handed weapons, where the available links may be central to the build.
Compare Heist and Harvest Enchantments
Use Heist enchantments when the goal is to amplify valuable existing explicit modifiers or obtain a special crafting property.
Consider Harvest enchantments when the item benefits more from a predictable quality-based stat.
Since these enchantments compete for the item’s enchantment slot, choosing one generally means giving up the other.
10. How to Trade for Heist Enchanted Items
Players who do not want to farm Grand Heists or repeatedly use enchantment currency can purchase already enchanted equipment from other players.
The official Path of Exile Trade website provides item filters that can help identify relevant enchantments.
Example: Finding a Caster Damage Weapon Enchantment
- Open the official Path of Exile Trade website and select the correct league.
- Choose the weapon type you want to purchase.
- Open the stat filters and search for an enchantment affecting Caster Damage modifier magnitudes.
- Set a suitable minimum value if needed.
- Review the weapon’s explicit modifiers, enchantment, sockets, and asking price.
- Contact the seller or use the supported trading method.
The important distinction is between an enchantment increasing Explicit Caster Damage Modifier magnitudes and an ordinary modifier increasing Spell Damage or another damage statistic.
These are not interchangeable effects.
How Much Do Tempering Orbs and Tailoring Orbs Cost?
Their prices fluctuate according to league progression, player demand, and supply.
Old fixed estimates such as 50 or 75 Chaos Orbs should not be treated as current prices.
Before crafting or trading, check the market value of the currency and compare it with the price of an already enchanted item.
For expensive items, buying an existing enchantment may be more economical than repeatedly applying random currency.
11. Heist Enchantment Crafting Examples
Example 1: Physical Damage Weapon
Suppose a weapon has an explicit modifier:
100% increased Physical Damage
A Heist enchantment grants:
15% increased Explicit Physical Modifier magnitudes
The relevant 100% explicit modifier would become approximately 115%, before considering other applicable interactions.
However, if that enchantment also provides:
200% increased Attribute Requirements
A weapon originally requiring 150 Strength could instead require 450 Strength, assuming no other requirement adjustments.
The additional damage modifier magnitude may be valuable, but the requirement penalty could make the item impractical.
Example 2: Life and Resistance Body Armour
Suppose body armour has:
- +100 Maximum Life
- +40% Fire Resistance
It receives an enchantment granting:
6% increased Explicit Life Modifier magnitudes
6% increased Explicit Resistance Modifier magnitudes
The enchantment would increase the relevant explicit modifiers to approximately +106 Maximum Life and +42% Fire Resistance, subject to rounding and other applicable modifier effects.
This is an example of a hybrid enchantment that can improve two valuable properties without a major listed drawback.
Example 3: All Sockets Linked
A body armour receives the enchantment:
All Sockets Linked
If the body armour has six sockets, all six are linked.
If it has four sockets, the enchantment links those four sockets rather than generating two additional sockets.
This distinction matters when evaluating items intended for a six-link skill setup.
12. PoE Heist Enchantments FAQ
Can Tempering Orbs and Tailoring Orbs be used more than once?
Yes. Using another eligible orb rerolls the enchantment, replacing the existing one.
The previous enchantment is not retained as an additional modifier.
Can Heist enchantments be applied to unique equipment?
Enchantments can generally exist on items of different rarities, including unique items. However, individual items may have restrictions.
For example, Tailoring Orbs cannot be used on certain body armour items with fixed socket configurations.
Can a weapon have both Harvest and Heist enchantments?
Normally, no. Both use the enchantment modifier slot.
Applying a new enchantment replaces the previous one rather than combining their bonuses.
Are White Socket Heist enchantments still available in PoE 3.29?
No. Version 3.29 removed White Socket-related enchantments from newly generated Heist rewards and the Tempering Orb and Tailoring Orb outcome pools.
Older items may still show historical enchantments, especially in Standard.
Are all-colour socket enchantments still available?
No. The 3.29 patch also removed newly generated Heist enchantments that force all sockets to become Red, Green, or Blue.
This does not mean that every other socket-related enchantment was removed.
Do Heist enchantments replace prefixes and suffixes?
No. Enchantments occupy a separate modifier slot rather than directly replacing ordinary explicit affixes.
However, the enchantment can modify the magnitudes or other characteristics of existing modifiers.
Can enchantments be removed?
Eligible enchantments on non-corrupted equipment can generally be removed using the Crafting Bench.
Check the available recipe and applicable item restrictions before attempting to remove an enchantment.
Can I obtain Tempering Orbs and Tailoring Orbs in Ruthless?
Ruthless has separate item acquisition restrictions. The PoE Wiki lists Tempering Orbs and Tailoring Orbs among items that are not obtainable through its normal Heist reward system in Ruthless.
Is the old Heist challenge requiring 10 of 14 enchantment modifier types still relevant?
The original challenge requiring players to equip items with 10 of 14 named Heist enchantment modifier types belonged to the historical Heist challenge content.
It should not be presented as a current PoE 3.29 league challenge.
The category names are still useful for understanding the historical modifier system, but players should consult the current challenge panel for active objectives.
