Mechanics

  • This item permanently grants Onslaught property (which is not a buff) if the player equipped this item; the increased Movement Speed character stat also applies in towns.

Onslaught

Onslaught is a non-stackable modifier that is usually granted by a buff. Onslaught Grants 20% increased Attack, Cast and Movement Speed.

Onslaught itself is never a buff; it is a boolean property that a character or enemy either has or does not have. Some things that grant Onslaught for a set duration do so by granting a buff that gives Onslaught – but the buff itself is not Onslaught, and that buff cannot be scaled by buff effect modifiers (e.g. Ichimonji) because its only effect is character has Onslaught which is not a scalable value. The effect of Onslaught can only be modified by #% increased Onslaught Effect modifiers, such as those found on Daresso’s Defiance or the Avatar of the Chase Raider ascendancy.

Buffs that grant Onslaught by default have a 4 second duration. This duration can be refreshed from the gaining the buff again from a buff source. Onslaught duration cannot be modified by skill duration modifiers unless the source of the Onslaught itself is from a skill (e.g. Onslaught Support).

Permanent Onslaught from sources such as Rapid Assault or the synthesised implicit modifier found on boots simply reads Onslaught, and does not grant any buffs.. Conditional Onslaught such as those found on Omeyocan and Dreadbeak are also not considered buffs as they only exist in their boolean state and do not display a buff status icon. Therefore, these sources of Onslaught cannot contribute to buff stacks for Mantra of Flames.
