Mechanics

PoE The Squire Build

Link the three sockets and it will effectively enable you to turn any three-linked Main Hand into a six-link. Support gems you socket into this shield apply to skills in your main hand(It includes both Skills from Gems or Skills granted by items).

You will be able to use The Squire with Empower, Enhance and Enlighten. As a result, it no longer grants +2 to socketed gems and instead grants gem quality.

But since the chance is weighted, probably there is more chance to obtain The Oppressor than The Squire. It is speculated that The Oppressor is released alongside The Squire is to prevent players deterministically obtaining this shield The Squire.
