PoE 3.23: With the Destructive Play Atlas Keystone allocated, killing the Map boss before The Maven can cast Up The Stakes no longer causes her to leave without summoning additional bosses.

3.22.1 Patch Notes: Updated the description of the Destructive Play Atlas Keystone Passive Skill to clarify Maven needs to be able to cast a skill in order to summon the additional bosses. Killing the boss prior to Maven casting Up the Stakes will result in Maven leaving without doing so.

PoE Destructive Play

Destructive Play is a new Atlas Keystone in PoE 3.22. With this keystone allocated, Modifiers to the Final Map Boss in each Map also apply to these summoned Bosses. Trial of the Ancestors introduces 16 new keystone passives to unlock on the Atlas Passive Tree.

PoE Destructive Play

Mechanics

Destructive Play causes the Maven to always use the skill "Up the Stakes", which summons 1-3 additional random bosses when witnessing a map boss in a map. Maven can summon additional bosses even if the map boss is killed before she casts the skill. These additional bosses do not count towards having been witnessed by the Maven. Modifiers to Final Map Bosses apply to these summoned bosses which includes the following:

  • Remnants of the Past: Shaper Guardian map
  • Vivid Memories: Synthesis unique map
  • Shaping the World: Connected map
  • Maven Invitation Drop Chance: Maven's Invitation
  • Atlas Currency Chance: Map currency
  • Atlas Scarab Chance: Scarab
  • Lucid Dreams (Ruthless mode): Vaal items

In a Conqueror map, if the Maven is unable to cast the skill on the default map boss, it will instead cast it inside the Conqueror's arena.

In an Elder Guardian map, Maven uses the skill only in the Elder Guardian's third/final phase.

Caution is advised as the Maven can randomly summon bosses with a corpse explosion skill (e.g. Detonate Dead) such as Maligaro the Mutilator, Tolman, the Exhumer, or Kalria, The Risen.

Ruthless mode

In Ruthless mode, the Maven only has a 20% chance to summon additional random bosses.

As of version 3.22.0 it is located near the top of the Atlas passive skill tree inside the Maven cluster.
