Stubs is a Virtual Currency in MLB The Show 23. It can be used for all in-game buys. Once acquired, items should be redeemed upon booting the game. Information on items redeemed should be listed in your Profile mail inbox.

MLB The Show 23 is completely cross-platform across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and you will be able to bring your Stubs with you if you choose to play on another console at a later date. However, only Stubs that you earn in-game can be transferred to another platform; Stubs that you purchase with real-money will be locked to the device that you bought them on. 1. Play the Game and Complete Missions

You earn stubs by playing the game and completing missions. Everything you do inside of an actual game will earn you stubs when you leave the game and the actions you do in that game contribute towards the missions so be sure to check them frequently. Franchises’ “Text-based-manager” mode does NOT earn you stubs since you don’t actually go in-game. Alternatively to this you can play the market to flip for stubs or use your actual money to buy them.

Missions: Tasks and stat based achievements that reward you with DD cards, stubs, and EXP.

2. Create Your Team

The first order of business in Diamond Dynasty is creating your team. MLB The Show 23 gives you the freedom to create custom jerseys and logo designs or just rock with actual jerseys from the minor or major leagues.

Similar to Road to the Show, you can use the in-game audio selections to pick a suitable name that the announcers can say during the game.

Tips: Access the shop and redeem a free 86-rated Derek Jeter. His incredible contact hitting (97 right, 119 left) will give your lineup a massive boost.

You’ll receive a starter pack that will fill out your roster but these players will be extremely mid. You must complete missions and challenges to earn Program XP and Stubs to purchase card packs and cards of the Auction. Completing missions and challenges will also reward you with card packs to upgrade your team.

3. Improve Your Team

An ongoing goal in Diamond Dynasty is to continuously upgrade your team. As you collect cards, you’ll come across better players to slot into your lineup or rotation. You’ll also collect Stubs that can be used to purchase high-profile cards from the shop or more card packs.

Tips: The Negro League cards that you earn in the Negro League Storylines can be used in Diamond Dynasty. It’s recommended to complete the Negro League Storylines before starting Diamond Dynasty, so you can equip these legendary players right away.

Certain high-profile cards are known as Captains. These special cards not only have a talent advantage over most other cards, but they can also provide boosts to your other players. Each Captain will have three tiers with qualifications for activation, and you can select one Hitting Captain and one Pitching Captain.

4. Create A New Character

The first step is simple; create a new character. Do not bother playing with the cosmetics, the goal of this strategy is to repeat this process with new characters dozens of times. Players can choose any position, choosing to focus on power, contact, fielding, velocity, control, or break.

Join any team. With a permanent character, players will want to do certain things to get called up to the major leagues as soon as possible but this character will get its goal while still playing in Double-A ball and then be abandoned.

6. Play Road To The Show & Change Sliders

If players change the sliders to make their character a deity, the penalty is a reduction in experience gains. However, because this character will be ditched soon, this doesn’t matter. Use the easiest difficulty, turn dynamic difficulty off, and change the sliders to make the game unbelievably easy for human players and awful for AI opponents.

It costs nothing to make the best batting stance, so do take a second as this will improve the player even further. After this, doing about anything will become incredibly easy; even bad gamers can hit .800 and knock several home runs per game.

7. Max Out Program Rewards & Start Over

This is where the magic begins. During these games, players will be given challenges that offer program rewards in addition to passive program rewards for playing well. Because the game is now ridiculously easy, gamers can start maxing out their program points.

After getting to the next level of the program, equip the new skill set and then start leveling it up. After three upgrades, players will reach the diamond skill set which takes 200 program points to max out instead of the usual 100. Open the packs, then sell the expensive perks, players, and gear while keeping the best equipment. After maxing out the diamond level of the program, start over with a new character.

Employing this strategy results in about 100,000 stubs every couple of hours. Even the most expensive players in Diamond Dynasty can be afforded with around ten hours of gameplay.

8. Finish Your Moments

Moments are bitesized gameplay challenges inspired by historical and contemporary baseball events. These can be as simple as striking out a single player or as complicated as taking a match to extra innings and earning the walk-off win. Completing Moments will typically earn you Stubs and Program progress, as well as additional rewards. In order to maximise the amount of Stubs you earn when completing Moments try to finish full sets, as completing all of the tiers in a given category will award you with bonus Stubs that you can then spend as you please.

9. Ensure to Collect Your Cards

Arguably the best way to earn Stubs without spending money is to complete Collections. As you open The Show Packs, your Diamond Dynasty item binder will fill out. You can then mark any cards you’ve collected, allowing you to earn Stubs and rewards.

Collections are divided into different sets, usually with tiered objectives, and completing all of the Tasks in an individual set will reward you with a large amount of Stubs for your troubles. It’s worth noting that any cards you do collect cannot be sold on the Community Market at a later date, so be careful when collecting cards you intend to sell.

10. Collect and exchange cards

As you complete Programs, finish challenges, and build up an extensive card collection, there are plenty of ways to earn Stubs with the cards you have. By going into the Collect tab in Diamond Dynasty, you can collect players, equipment items, uniforms, and more to earn Stubs.

Once you submit cards, you can no longer sell them but the rewards are worth it. The Show also has a feature that allows you to exchange players for silver or gold ones, though we don’t recommend doing Exchanges. The reward rarely equates to what you give up in return.

11. Play Showdown

Showdowns provide a great way to earn stubs quickly. Players draft a team and complete challenges until they eventually face off against a superstar in the final challenge. Some Showdowns come with a small entry fee, so there is a little bit of a risk involved, but 300 per Stubs per challenge more than justifies an entry.

You can always purchase Stubs with real money, but these are all the best ways to earn Stubs without needing to spend a dime.
