In FC 24, we are introducing Technical Dribbling, a brand new dribbling system that incorporates the Active Touch system to calculate a player’s path to the ball more intelligently.
With hundreds of new animations captured by Advanced Match Capture and with ML-Flow (machine learning) active between each touch, our aim with Technical Dribbling is to improve the feeling of movement while controlling the ball, making turning and dribbling feel more responsive.
Technical Dribbling is the new default dribble style using the Left Stick, and any player can perform it, although the quality of the dribble is still heavily dependent on the player’s Dribbling Attributes. Here’s a list of which Attributes can impact aspects of Technical Dribbling the most, with higher Attributes having a more positive impact.
● Dribbling and Ball Control – Precision of the dribble touch.
● Dribbling, Agility and Reactions – How quickly animations play out.
● Dribbling and Ball Control – How close or far the ball can stay to the dribbler.
● Dribbling and Reactions – How much speed the ball carrier maintains while dribbling.
● Dribbling, Agility, Balance and Reactions – How quickly the ball carrier can transition between different dribbling animations.
Note that these Attributes are also used for other mechanics and actions.
It’s important to keep in mind that Technical Dribbling only works when using purely the Left Stick. Dribbling modifiers or other dribbling systems (such as Agile Dribbling, Strafe Dribbling, Shield Dribbling, Slow Dribbling and contextual counterparts), are separate systems that do not use Technical Dribbling.
You must first master the dribbling controls in FC 24 in order to become a pro player. The list of basic moves and controls for dribbling in FC 24 can be found below. Do memorise and get familiarised yourself with these controls. The Practice Arena in FC 24 is a great place to try them out and practise your dribbling.

As for basic dribbling, you need to be good at these moves:
To carry the ball and pass your opponent you can just use the L stick. Using the R stick will also help you to do skill moves. Familiarizing yourself with the skill moves will also help you perform the dribbling very well.
The initial step in dribbling is to guard the ball (by pressing the L2/LT button). Sprinting (when moving, hold the R2/RT button) will also help you pass your opponents. Slow dribbling (by holding the L1/LB button) is sometimes necessary to create extra space for yourself to take a shot or pass the ball.
To move on, you need to do more advanced dribbling techniques such as:
Face Up Dribbling will help you to the most control of the ball while facing the goal. To perform this technique, use L2/LT + R2/RT buttons. Drag Back technique (R1/RB + L Flick ⇩) allows you to quickly switch to opposite directions when there is no open space for you to move into, which is way faster than manually turning around.
Strafe Dribbling (L1 + L / (LB + L) is a new dribbling technique in FC 24 and a very effective method for dribbling.
Performing more skill moves could also be crucial for successful dribbling. Get familiar with all the skills and make your fingers comfortable with using them. Take note that the skill moves are categorised based on the players’ star moves.
The player with the higher dribbling attribute (DRI) will perform the better dribbling. Try to have at least two players with a high dribbling rate in your team if you are playing FUT. Otherwise, choose your best available dribblers in your team for the positions where you need to dribble the ball more often.
