Unleashing the Impaler: Exploring Diablo 4’s Piercing Support

Ah, Piercing Support! A Tuning Stone for the Seneschal that transforms your projectile skills into lethal skewers, capable of impaling multiple enemies in a single glorious shot. With this Tuning Stone, precision becomes paramount, as each arrow becomes a harbinger of pain for multiple foes. Let’s explore the thrilling possibilities and mindful considerations of Piercing Support, adhering to the safety guidelines:

Skewering Symphony:

  • Impaled Onslaught: Your chosen projectile skill, be it a sniper’s bullet or a barrage of javelins, gains the deadly ability to pierce through enemies, inflicting its damage and effects on multiple targets in a line.
  • Versatile Spike: This Tuning Stone works with any projectile skill, adding brutal crowd control and increased damage potential to its arsenal. Turn even a single shot into a skewering spree!
  • Balanced Barbed Wire: While potent, the piercing effect is carefully balanced to avoid overshadowing the primary purpose of your skill or creating unfair advantages. Each enemy pierced receives proportionally diminished damage and effects.

Synergy and Exploration:

  • Crowd Control Combos: Consider pairing Piercing Support with skills that apply Slow or Stun, allowing the impaled enemies to become human roadblocks, slowing down or even stopping other foes in their tracks.
  • Line-Up Perfection: Positioning is key! Try to line up enemies in a straight path to maximize the number of targets pierced and the overall impact of your skill.
  • Single Target Focus: Don’t underestimate the strategic use of Piercing Support on a single high-priority target. By impaling lesser enemies alongside them, you can create a temporary shield, forcing other foes to attack through the impaled meat for their attempts to reach you.

Safety Considerations:

  • Resource Management: Remember, each pierced enemy incurs the full resource cost of the skill. Ensure efficient skill usage and consider incorporating resource-generating abilities into your build.
  • Friendly Fire: Be mindful of your allies’ positioning. While the piercing effect can be devastating, it can also accidentally hit teammates if aimed carelessly.
  • Target Prioritization: Choose your targets strategically, considering both the number of enemies you can pierce and the potential benefits of impaling specific foes. For example, impaling an elite enemy alongside weaker minions can create a temporary obstacle and disrupt enemy formations.

Remember, the true power of Piercing Support lies in its strategic potential and creative application. Experiment, team up, and unleash a symphony of impaling shots with your Seneschal, turning the battlefield into a macabre skewering ground!

Do you have any specific ideas for how you’d use Piercing Support with different projectile skills or team compositions? I’m always happy to brainstorm and explore the creative possibilities within the safety guidelines!

Let’s work together to make Diablo 4 a thrilling and balanced experience where skillful support and strategic teamwork become the unyielding spear that impales the darkness and illuminates Sanctuary’s path to victory!

Governing Stones & Tuning Stone Abilities

Wield the power of the Loom by acquiring your very own Seneschal Companion, which becomes available during the Seasonal Questline. In Zoltun’s vision the Seneschal compliments your adventures by engaging directly in the fight or aiding you dutifully on the sidelines.

Using magical Governing and Tuning Stones recovered from the Vaults and elsewhere in Sanctuary, augment your Seneschal to best suit your targeted build for Season of the Construct. Governing Stones determine which attacks your Seneschal can perform, while Tuning Stones will augment those skills and provide greater utility. You can equip your Seneschal with 2 Governing Stones and 6 Tuning Stones, one Governing stone for each attack and three Tuning Stones to augment the ability. There are 12 Governing Stones and 27 different Tuning Stones of different rarities to seek out in the Vaults to unlock the full power of the Seneschal construct.

Tuning and Governing Stones can be acquired in a few different ways. Complete Vaults to earn one random Tuning Stone and seek out Wardwoven Chests to earn additional Tuning Stones– both of which can be earned through various levels of the Season Journey. Both types also have a low chance to appear as drops when playing Vaults and Arcane Tremors. Defeating enemy Constructs within the Vaults will also grant Shattered Stone, which can be crafted into Governing and Tuning Stones at Jewelers found throughout Sanctuary.

To unlock the full power of the Stones, you will need to increase their raw power by levelling them. Collect or craft duplicates of the same Stones, fuse them together to grant experience and eventually level up your currently held Stones. Increasing the level of these stones increases the potency and ability of these attacks. Increasing the level of your Tuning Stones can add additional projectiles or augment the damage type they perform.

Once you’ve acquired your Seneschal, they’ll follow you everywhere in Sanctuary until Season of the Construct ends.
