Duty Support, a system that allows solo players to tackle duties with a party of NPCs, has been added.
The Duty Support system can be used to progress through main scenario duties with a party of NPCs.
As of Patch 6.1, instanced duties for A Realm Reborn, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker are supported. Duty Support for 2.x to Heavensward and beyond will be added in future patches.
The Duty Support icon will display above the entrance of applicable duties.
Select the entrance, and then choose the option to enter the dungeon with a group of NPCs in the window that appears. A new menu will display, from which you can select "Register for Duty" to begin the duty.
First, select Duty Support under Duty in the main menu. A list of available duties will be displayed in the window that appears. Select the duty you wish to enter, confirm which NPCs will be accompanying you, then select the "Register for Duty."
The Duty Finder and Trust menus can also be accessed by pressing the appropriate button at the bottom of the Duty Support menu.
Certain duties allow you to switch out the NPCs in your party. This is indicated by a message that displays underneath your party members.
Click on your party members or press the confirm button on your controller to open a window showing a list of available NPCs for that duty.
* The NPC party members available in A Realm Reborn instanced duties are fixed according to your role, and therefore cannot be selected.
Experience the story of A Realm Reborn solo with the arrival of the Duty Support system, enabling Warriors of Light to call upon NPC allies for main scenario duties implemented in 2.0. Patch 2.0 dungeons and trials have also been adjusted to ensure the best possible gameplay─alone or with friends!
* Duty Support and updates for 2.x, Heavensward, and so forth will be progressively implemented in later patches.
Patch 6.1 marks the debut of the new Duty Support system which enables you to play 4-player main scenario dungeons and trials solo with a party of NPCs alongside you.
Initially, the system will support A Realm Reborn (2.0) content and will be expanded in future updates to support Patch 2.x content, as well as the Heavensward expansion and beyond.
In addition, the team is planning major revisions to Cape Westwind and the subsequent 2.0 main scenario duties to further support an accessible solo-player experience. Whether you like to play with real-world allies, or go it alone, FINAL FANTASY XIV Online is a game for everyone.
