FFXIV Race Heights 2026: Complete Height Comparison Chart

How tall are the different races in Final Fantasy XIV? FFXIV offers eight playable races, each with its own character height range. Whether you want to create the tallest Roegadyn, the shortest Lalafell, or compare male and female Viera, this updated FFXIV race height chart covers every playable race and gender, including female Hrothgar.

The tables below show the minimum (0%), midpoint (50%), and maximum (100%) character heights in both centimeters and feet and inches.

FFXIV Race Height Comparison Chart

This FFXIV height chart includes all 18 race and gender combinations, with Hyur Midlanders and Highlanders listed separately because they have different height ranges.

Note: Centimeter values are the reference measurements. Feet and inches are approximate conversions, rounded to the nearest tenth of an inch. Height is measured using the character creation settings, not a character’s apparent height in a particular pose.

Which FFXIV Race Is the Tallest?

Male Roegadyn are the tallest playable characters in FFXIV, reaching a maximum height of 230.4 cm (approximately 7 feet 6.7 inches).

The tallest playable female characters are also Roegadyn, reaching 222.7 cm (approximately 7 feet 3.7 inches).

The tallest race and gender combinations are:

1. Male Roegadyn: 230.4 cm maximum.
2. Female Roegadyn: 222.7 cm maximum.
3. Male Au Ra: 217.0 cm maximum.
4. Male Hrothgar: 212.9 cm maximum.
5. Male Elezen: 209.8 cm maximum.

These rankings compare maximum selectable heights, not the average height of player characters.

Which FFXIV Race Is the Shortest?

Lalafell are the shortest playable race in Final Fantasy XIV. Both male and female Lalafell share the same height range:

• Minimum: 86.9 cm (2’10.2″).
• Midpoint: 92.0 cm (3’0.2″).
• Maximum: 97.0 cm (3’2.2″).

Outside Lalafell, female Au Ra have the shortest minimum and maximum heights, ranging from 146.0 cm to 158.5 cm. Female Miqo’te are also relatively short, ranging from 149.7 cm to 162.2 cm.

FFXIV Female Race Heights Comparison

Female character heights vary considerably between races. Female Roegadyn are by far the tallest option, while female Lalafell are the shortest.

Here is the female height ranking at the maximum (100%) setting:

1. Roegadyn: 222.7 cm.
2. Hrothgar: 199.4 cm.
3. Elezen: 198.4 cm.
4. Viera: 191.4 cm.
5. Highlander: 187.6 cm.
6. Midlander: 170.5 cm.
7. Miqo’te: 162.2 cm.
8. Au Ra: 158.5 cm.
9. Lalafell: 97.0 cm.

Female Hrothgar Height

Female Hrothgar became playable with the Dawntrail expansion in Patch 7.0, making older FFXIV height charts incomplete.

The female Hrothgar height range is:

• Minimum: 184.4 cm (6’0.6″).
• Midpoint: 191.8 cm (6’3.5″).
• Maximum: 199.4 cm (6’6.5″).

Female Hrothgar are slightly taller than female Elezen at corresponding slider settings. They are the second-tallest playable female race after Roegadyn.

Female Viera Height

Female Viera range from 178.8 cm to 191.4 cm, with a midpoint of approximately 185.1 cm. Their tall, slender proportions and distinctive ears can make them appear taller than similarly sized characters of other races.

FFXIV Male Race Heights Comparison

Male Roegadyn have the greatest maximum height, followed by male Au Ra, Hrothgar, and Elezen.

Here is the male height ranking at the maximum (100%) setting:

1. Roegadyn: 230.4 cm.
2. Au Ra: 217.0 cm.
3. Hrothgar: 212.9 cm.
4. Elezen: 209.8 cm.
5. Highlander: 200.2 cm.
6. Viera: 186.5 cm.
7. Midlander: 182.0 cm.
8. Miqo’te: 173.2 cm.
9. Lalafell: 97.0 cm.

Male Viera Height

Male Viera became playable with Endwalker. Their heights range from 172.2 cm to 186.5 cm, with a midpoint of approximately 179.3 cm.

Female Viera have a taller height range than male Viera, although their selectable ranges overlap.

Male Au Ra vs. Male Hrothgar Height

Male Au Ra reach a maximum height of 217.0 cm, compared with 212.9 cm for male Hrothgar. That makes a maximum-height male Au Ra approximately 4.1 cm taller.

However, Hrothgar have broader builds and more pronounced forward-leaning postures, so apparent size can differ from the listed character height.

How Does the FFXIV Height Slider Work?

During character creation, Final Fantasy XIV allows you to customize your character’s height using a percentage slider.

• 0%: The shortest available height for your selected race and gender.
• 50%: The midpoint of that race and gender’s selectable height range.
• 100%: The tallest available height for your selected race and gender.

For example, a male Roegadyn at 0% is approximately 213.5 cm tall, while the same race and gender at 100% reaches approximately 230.4 cm.

The height percentage is relative to your chosen race and gender. A 100% Lalafell will still be shorter than a 0% Miqo’te.

Also, 50% is the midpoint of the available slider range. It does not mean that half of all players are shorter or taller than that value.

Does Your FFXIV Clan Affect Height?

FFXIV races are divided into clans, such as Midlander and Highlander for Hyur, Wildwood and Duskwight for Elezen, and Rava and Veena for Viera.

For most races, the two clans share the same selectable height range when gender is the same.

Hyur are the important exception to the usual clan comparison: Midlanders and Highlanders have distinct height ranges and are therefore listed separately in the chart.

Does Character Height Affect Gameplay in FFXIV?

Choosing a taller or shorter character is primarily a cosmetic decision. Character height does not provide an advantage in combat damage, movement speed, or standard combat targeting mechanics.

However, height can influence your visual experience:

• Camera perspective: Very short and very tall characters can feel different to play because of their scale and camera positioning.
• Glamour appearance: Armor and clothing can look quite different on Lalafell, Viera, Roegadyn, or Hrothgar.
• Social interactions: Height differences are especially noticeable in screenshots, emotes, and group photos.
• Character identity: Your chosen height can help convey a particular appearance or roleplaying concept.

How to Change Your Character’s Height in FFXIV

You can adjust your height while creating a new character. If your character already exists, changing height requires a Phial of Fantasia.

1. Obtain a Phial of Fantasia through an available in-game source or the FFXIV Online Store.
2. Use the Fantasia on the character whose appearance you want to modify.
3. Follow the in-game instructions and log out when ready to edit your appearance.
4. Select the character appearance editing option on the character selection screen.
5. Adjust your height slider and confirm your new appearance.

Since Patch 7.0, Fantasia permits additional appearance edits during a 60-minute period of in-game playtime after the initial edit. The time does not count down while logged out.

Important: The Aesthetician cannot change your character’s height. It can modify certain cosmetic details, such as hairstyles and makeup, but not body height.
