What is The Dream Furnace?

The Dream Furnace is a device that grants you the ability to place Maps in the Blood Crucible, alongside your equipment. When you get this quest item, take this item to The Last To Die. Then, the Blood Crucible adds a new map slot.

When a Map absorbs enough corruption and transforms, it gains a beneficial and detrimental effect in the same way that a piece of equipment does, but can also gain a modifier that changes the behaviour of Scourge league in that map entirely.

The following is an example. It gains a few new modifiers:

• Shift into nightmare for 15 seconds on slaying a rare or unique enemy
• Cannot manually shift into nightmare
• Monsters in nightmare deal 20% more damage
• Rare scourge monsters drop 1 additional basic currency item

After all, when you combine two types of alternate realities together, the results are bound to be unpredictable.

Maps can be transformed up to ten times, increasing their risk and reward substantially each time. When a map is transformed a second or subsequent time, there’s a chance that the new beneficial or detrimental modifiers stack alongside the existing ones, enhancing their power, or a chance that new modifiers are added.

Be careful not to transform your maps too many times as they may become too dangerous to complete.

How to get the Dream Furnace?

• Quest: Twisted Dreams

Kill boss in Nightmare will random drop a Dream Furnace. Boss has special minimap icons and pauses the blood drain. It pauses for five seconds for every 5% of life lost by the boss - so at 95%, 90%, 85% etc. The pauses don't stack. So if for example you get the boss to 50% life very quickly, it would still only pause for 5 seconds rather than 50.
