Mechanics

  • Herald of Thunder also creates a storm when you Shock an Enemy: Causes any shock you inflict to activate Herald of Thunder storm effect that causes lightning bolts hit enemies around you for a duration.
  • Herald of Thunder's Storms Hit Enemies with (30-50)% increased Frequency: Increases the storm's lightning bolts frequency. It is important to note that because of how the servers update, the roll on this modifier is not currently relevant unless the player has other sources of the same effect.
    • Herald of Thunder has a base cooldown of 250 milliseconds(ms), and cooldowns need to be reduced to multiples of 33ms (one server update or 'tick') to affect the effective cooldown. Therefore, strikes occur every 8 ticks by default, just 27% increased frequency will reduce the cooldown to 6 ticks, and 52% is needed for 5 ticks. Only 90% is needed for 4 ticks, which 2 copies of this item can achieve without perfect rolls. The formula is cooldown(ms)/(1+inc frequency(%)/100) * server tick rate (1/.033), rounded up.
  • Take 250 Lightning Damage when Herald of Thunder Hits an Enemy: Makes you take 250 lightning damage every time a lightning bolt hits an enemy.

Both Take 250 Lightning Damage when Herald of Thunder Hits an Enemy and Herald of Thunder's Storms Hit Enemies with (30-50)% increased Frequency can be stacked by using two Storm Secret.

Storm Secret Build Guide

This unique ring synergizes with the Herald of Thunder skill. Instead of having Herald of Thunder cast lightning bolts whenever enemies are killed, the effect will instead trigger whenever enemies are shocked.

You can use a combination of other lightning skills like Orb of Storms to bring the thunder (seen in the video below). I guess you can start calling your character “The Rock” — because you’ll become “The Most Electrifying Man in Wraeclast.”
