Exceptional gloves are found only on Nightmare and Hell in Diablo II. In the Expansion they go by item level, and can be dropped by any monster of an equally-high level. This means you’ll occasionally see Demonhide, Sharkskin, and possibly even Heavy Bracers dropped in Act Five/Normal.
