PoE Soul Core of Might: How It Works and Best Uses

Soul Core of Might is a new currency item introduced in Path of Exile 3.30: Covens of Umbra. It allows players to corrupt a Level 20 Skill Gem, adding a random Strength Support effect that is guaranteed to work with the selected skill.

1. Soul Core of Might Item Details

Item Description:"Corrupts a level 20 Skill Gem, Imbuing it with a random Strength Support effect."

2. How Does Soul Core of Might Work?

Using Soul Core of Might is straightforward:

1. Obtain a Level 20 Skill Gem.
2. Right-click Soul Core of Might in your inventory.
3. Left-click the Level 20 Skill Gem.
4. The gem becomes corrupted and gains a random Strength Support effect.

The most important feature is that the added Support effect will always be compatible with the selected Skill Gem.

This prevents players from receiving an unusable Support effect, although the actual result remains random.

3. Is Soul Core of Might Worth Using?

Soul Core of Might could be valuable for players looking to improve their main damage skills.

Potential advantages:

• Adds an additional Support effect to a Skill Gem.
• Guarantees compatibility with the selected skill.
• May provide powerful combinations for Strength-oriented builds.
• Creates opportunities for valuable corrupted gems.

Potential disadvantages:

• The Support effect is random.
• Only Level 20 Skill Gems can be targeted.
• The resulting gem is corrupted and cannot be modified again.

Because the result is unpredictable, players should consider using Soul Core of Might on spare or replaceable Level 20 gems rather than risking an essential gem.

4. How to Get Soul Core of Might in PoE 3.30

Soul Core of Might is associated with the Incursion changes introduced in PoE 3.30.

With Atziri replacing the Vaal Omnitect in the Temple of Atzoatl, players can challenge the new Uber Temple for greater rewards.

Atziri also has a chance to drop a Soul Core, making the upgraded Temple an important farming destination for players seeking these items.

The exact drop rate for Soul Core of Might has not been confirmed.

5. Summary

Soul Core of Might introduces a new way to enhance Level 20 Skill Gems in PoE 3.30. Its guaranteed Support compatibility makes it attractive for build optimization, while the random outcome and permanent corruption create an element of risk.

For players farming the Uber Temple of Atzoatl, Soul Core of Might could become one of the more interesting rewards from the Incursion rework.
