A Blessed Orb is a currency item in Path of Exile that randomises the values of an item’s implicit modifiers. It is especially useful for improving rings, amulets, belts, unique equipment, Synthesised items, and Eldritch implicits without changing the item’s explicit modifiers.
Blessed Orbs also have important uses beyond equipment. They can improve Expedition Logbook implicits and, since Patch 3.28, reroll the specific Elder Guardian or Conqueror found on eligible maps.

This guide explains how Blessed Orbs work in PoE 3.29, how to use them efficiently, where to farm them, whether vendor recipes exist, and how to determine their current market value.
1. What Is a Blessed Orb in PoE?
Blessed Orb
- Stack size: 20
- Drop level: 35
- Item class: Currency
- Effect: Randomises the values of implicit modifiers
The in-game description reads:
Randomises the values of the implicit modifiers of an item.
Unlike a Divine Orb, which generally rerolls explicit modifier values, a Blessed Orb targets implicit modifiers. It does not change an item’s rarity, sockets, explicit prefixes, or explicit suffixes.
Blessed Orbs are particularly valuable when an item already has desirable explicit modifiers but its implicit values could be improved.
For example, an Amethyst Ring has a base implicit of +(17–23)% to Chaos Resistance. A Blessed Orb can reroll this value while leaving its explicit modifiers unchanged.
2. PoE Implicit Modifiers Guide
What are implicit modifiers?
Implicit modifiers are properties associated with an item’s base type or special crafting mechanics. They usually appear above the separator that divides them from explicit modifiers in an item’s description.
Implicit modifiers commonly appear on:
- Rings, amulets, and belts
- Quivers and certain weapons
- Shields
- Specific body armour bases
- Synthesised items
- Equipment with Eldritch implicits
- Special Atlas, Ritual, and other item bases
Not every item has an implicit modifier, and not every implicit has a variable range.
Implicit vs. explicit modifiers
Consider an Amethyst Ring with these hypothetical stats:
| Modifier | Example | Type |
|---|---|---|
|
Chaos Resistance |
+19% |
Implicit |
|
Maximum Life |
+75 |
Explicit |
|
Fire Resistance |
+42% |
Explicit |
|
Cold Resistance |
+38% |
Explicit |
Using a Blessed Orb can change the ring’s +19% implicit Chaos Resistance within its applicable range.
However, its +75 maximum Life, +42% Fire Resistance, and +38% Cold Resistance remain unchanged.
This distinction is important when selecting the correct crafting currency.
How can implicit modifiers be changed?
Different currencies interact with implicit modifiers in different ways.
- Blessed Orb: Rerolls the existing implicit modifier values within their permitted ranges.
- Vaal Orb: Corrupts an item and can potentially add or replace implicit modifiers.
- Eldritch Ember: Applies or changes Searing Exarch implicits on eligible equipment.
- Eldritch Ichor: Applies or changes Eater of Worlds implicits.
- Orb of Conflict: Changes the relative tiers of Eldritch implicits.
Enchantments are separate from ordinary implicit modifiers and cannot be rerolled using Blessed Orbs.
3. How to Use a Blessed Orb in PoE
Using a Blessed Orb is straightforward.
- Place a Blessed Orb in your inventory.
- Identify an eligible item with a variable implicit modifier.
- Right-click the Blessed Orb.
- Hover over the target item to inspect the values that will be rerolled.
- Left-click the item to apply the Blessed Orb.
- Inspect the new implicit values and decide whether another attempt is worthwhile.
Since Patch 3.28, hovering over items while applying a Blessed Orb or Divine Orb highlights the affected modifier values. Patch 3.29.2 further improved this interaction by displaying non-advanced modifiers by default while these currencies are being applied.
Can a Blessed Orb roll the same value?
No. Under the documented Blessed Orb mechanics, the reroll excludes the current implicit value.
Consider the current Amethyst Ring implicit range of 17–23% Chaos Resistance.
If your ring currently has +17% Chaos Resistance, a Blessed Orb can produce one of these six values:
18%, 19%, 20%, 21%, 22%, or 23%.
Assuming an equally weighted distribution, the chance of immediately obtaining the maximum 23% roll is approximately 16.67%.
However, if the ring already has +23% Chaos Resistance, using a Blessed Orb would produce a lower value.
Tip: Avoid using Blessed Orbs on already perfect implicit values unless you have a specific reason to change them.
4. What Items Can You Use Blessed Orbs On?
Normal, Magic, Rare, and Unique equipment
Blessed Orbs can be used on equipment of different rarities, provided the item has a rerollable implicit modifier and is not corrupted.
Examples include eligible rings, amulets, belts, weapons, shields, and armour.
Blessed Orb on Unique items
Blessed Orbs can also reroll implicit values on unique equipment.

For example, Eye of Chayula has an Onyx Amulet implicit granting +(10–16) to all Attributes.
Suppose you find a non-corrupted Eye of Chayula with +12 to all Attributes.
A Blessed Orb could increase or decrease this value within the permitted range, potentially improving it to +16.
However, the unique’s explicit properties, such as its stun immunity, remain unchanged.
Blessed Orbs cannot reroll fixed implicit values or modify corrupted unique items.
Blessed Orb on Synthesised items
Synthesised items can possess special implicit modifiers that replace their original base implicits.
Blessed Orbs can reroll the numerical values of eligible Synthesised implicits without replacing their modifier types.
This makes them useful for improving valuable Synthesised bases.
Blessed Orb on Eldritch implicits
Blessed Orbs can also reroll variable values on eligible Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds implicits.
However, they cannot change an Eldritch implicit’s modifier type or upgrade its tier.
For example, if an Eldritch implicit grants a range of 8–9% increased effect, a Blessed Orb can reroll its value within that range. It cannot turn that modifier into a higher-tier version.
To change or upgrade Eldritch modifiers, players must use the appropriate Eldritch currency or Orb of Conflict.
5. Newer Blessed Orb Uses: Maps and Expedition Logbooks
Blessed Orbs are not limited to equipment crafting.
Reroll Elder Guardian and Conqueror maps
One important change arrived in Path of Exile Patch 3.28.
Blessed Orbs can now reroll the specific Elder Guardian or Conqueror inhabiting an eligible Guardian or Conqueror map.
This means you can potentially change which boss appears without replacing the entire map.
For example, if you have an eligible Elder Guardian map containing an unwanted Guardian, applying a Blessed Orb can reroll the boss identity.
This feature does not apply to pre-existing legacy Guardian or Conqueror maps excluded by the 3.28 change.
It also does not mean Blessed Orbs can freely transform ordinary maps into Guardian maps.
Reroll Expedition Logbook implicits
Blessed Orbs can reroll the values of eligible implicit modifiers on Expedition Logbooks.
Some Logbook implicits affect important Expedition mechanics, including:
- Increased number of Explosives
- Increased Explosive Radius
- Increased Explosive Placement Range
Improving these modifiers can help you access additional monsters, remnants, and reward chests during an Expedition.
For valuable Logbooks, using Blessed Orbs to improve useful implicits can be worthwhile before opening them.

6. Why Can’t I Use a Blessed Orb?
If a Blessed Orb cannot be applied to an item, one of the following restrictions may explain the problem.
| Problem | Explanation |
|---|---|
|
No implicit modifier |
There is nothing eligible to reroll. |
|
Fixed implicit value |
The modifier has no variable outcome. |
|
Corrupted item |
Ordinary Blessed Orbs cannot modify corrupted items. |
|
Enchantment instead of implicit |
Enchantments occupy a separate modifier category. |
|
Unsupported item |
The target does not have an eligible implicit or special Blessed Orb interaction. |
A common mistake is confusing explicit modifiers with implicit modifiers.
For example, a rare ring might have several valuable resistance modifiers, but if those resistances are explicit suffixes, a Blessed Orb will not change them.
Similarly, applying a Blessed Orb to a corrupted unique item is not possible even if its implicit value is below the maximum.
7. Blessed Orb vs. Divine Orb vs. Chaos Orb
Although these currency items all interact with modifiers, they perform very different functions.
| Currency | Main effect | Best use |
|---|---|---|
|
Blessed Orb |
Rerolls implicit modifier values |
Improving item implicits |
|
Divine Orb |
Rerolls existing random modifier values, generally explicit values |
Optimising explicit rolls |
|
Chaos Orb |
Reforges a rare item with new random modifiers |
Rerolling rare equipment |
|
Vaal Orb |
Corrupts an item with unpredictable effects |
Corruption crafting |
|
Orb of Conflict |
Adjusts Eldritch implicit tiers |
Improving Eldritch modifiers |
Blessed Orb vs. Divine Orb
A Divine Orb is generally used to improve explicit modifier values.
A Blessed Orb improves implicit values.
If an item has excellent explicit modifiers but a poor implicit roll, use a Blessed Orb rather than a Divine Orb.
Blessed Orb vs. Chaos Orb
A Chaos Orb reforges a rare item’s random modifiers. This can completely change the item’s explicit prefixes and suffixes.
A Blessed Orb is much more targeted because it preserves those explicit modifiers.
Therefore, Blessed Orbs are better suited to improving already valuable equipment rather than generating new rare-item combinations.
8. How to Get Blessed Orbs in PoE 3.29
There are several methods for obtaining Blessed Orbs, including ordinary gameplay drops, currency trading, and certain random divination-card rewards.
Method 1: Farm monsters and maps
Blessed Orbs have a drop level of 35 and can drop from eligible monsters and other loot sources.
You can find them through:
- Killing monsters during the campaign and endgame
- Completing maps
- Opening chests and containers
- Opening Arcanist’s Strongboxes
- Farming content that generates substantial amounts of general currency loot
There is no reliable dedicated monster or map that guarantees a Blessed Orb.
For efficient farming, focus on content your build can clear quickly while collecting other valuable currency drops.
A suitable loot filter can also help you identify Blessed Orbs more easily.
Method 2: Trade through Faustus’ Currency Exchange
For trade-league players, one of the most convenient methods is the in-game Currency Exchange.
Faustus, the Financier, provides access to this system beginning in Act 6.
To obtain Blessed Orbs:
- Speak to Faustus and open the Currency Exchange.
- Select Blessed Orb in the "I Want" field.
- Choose Chaos Orbs or another available currency in the "I Have" field.
- Review the current exchange ratio.
- Enter the quantity you want.
- Confirm the order and pay the required Gold fee.
- Collect the Blessed Orbs when the order is fulfilled.
The documented Gold fee is 35 Gold per Blessed Orb received, although the separate market exchange ratio changes according to supply and demand.
You can also use the official Path of Exile Trade website to find player listings.
The Currency Exchange is available in trade-enabled leagues, not Solo Self-Found.
Method 3: Get Blessed Orbs from divination cards
There is no documented dedicated divination-card set that reliably awards Blessed Orbs directly in the current community wiki.
However, Blessed Orbs can appear through random currency rewards.
Emperor’s Luck
A complete set of five Emperor’s Luck cards grants five random currency items. Blessed Orbs are among the possible currency outcomes.
The Void
The Void grants a random divination-card set reward, which can potentially result in Blessed Orbs.
Neither method guarantees Blessed Orbs, so they should not be considered reliable targeted farming strategies.
Method 4: Buy Blessed Orbs from U4GM — 6% Off Coupon Z123
Players considering third-party marketplaces can find Path of Exile currency, including Blessed Orbs, on U4GM.
You can buy Blessed Orbs from U4GM and enter the promotional code Z123 at checkout for the advertised 6% off.
Coupon Code: Z123 — 6% Off
Check the correct game, league, platform, current price, and coupon eligibility before purchasing.
9. Blessed Orb Vendor Recipe
As of PoE 3.29, there is no known direct vendor recipe that produces Blessed Orbs.
Selling a particular combination of ordinary equipment to an NPC does not guarantee a Blessed Orb.
This differs from currency items that can be obtained through established vendor recipes.
Although random divination-card rewards can generate Blessed Orbs, those are not equivalent to a guaranteed vendor recipe.
For players who need Blessed Orbs immediately, the in-game Currency Exchange is generally more practical than attempting to obtain them through random rewards.
10. PoE Blessed Orb Price and Value in 3.29
The value of Blessed Orbs depends on the current league economy.
Prices can vary substantially between:
- Current Softcore trade leagues
- Hardcore trade leagues
- Standard league
- PC and console markets
- Early-league and late-league economies
There is no permanent exchange ratio between Blessed Orbs and Chaos Orbs or Divine Orbs.
Older guides sometimes list fixed conversions, such as one Chaos Orb for 29 Blessed Orbs or one Divine Orb for 80 Blessed Orbs.
These numbers should not be treated as current market prices.
For up-to-date exchange information, use the in-game Currency Exchange or the following resources:
Always compare rates within the correct league and platform before trading.
11. Best Ways to Spend Blessed Orbs
Blessed Orbs are generally more useful for optimising valuable equipment than for upgrading temporary leveling gear.
Prioritise useful implicit modifiers
An improved implicit is most valuable when it directly benefits your build.
Examples include Chaos Resistance, attributes, and other important stats that help meet equipment or build requirements.
Upgrade valuable items first
If you have a powerful unique item, a valuable Synthesised base, or an expensive rare with excellent explicit modifiers, improving its implicit can provide additional value without risking those explicit stats.
Consider Eldritch implicit breakpoints
When an Eldritch implicit has variable values, a Blessed Orb may help you reach the better roll within the existing tier.
However, remember that it will not change the modifier type or upgrade the tier.
Use them on valuable Logbooks
For Expedition-focused farming, improving useful Logbook implicits can be worthwhile, particularly when those modifiers increase the effectiveness of explosive placement.
Stop when the roll is good enough
Continuously using Blessed Orbs to gain a tiny improvement is not always economical.
If the expected cost of further rerolling exceeds the value of the potential improvement, keeping the current roll is usually the better decision.
12. Blessed Orb FAQs
What does a Blessed Orb do in Path of Exile?
A Blessed Orb randomises the values of eligible implicit modifiers without changing the item’s explicit modifiers. It also has special applications to Expedition Logbooks and certain Guardian or Conqueror maps.
Can Blessed Orbs change an implicit modifier’s type?
No. A Blessed Orb normally changes an eligible implicit’s rolled value, not the identity of the modifier.
Other crafting currencies are needed to replace implicit modifier types.
Can I use Blessed Orbs on corrupted items?
No. Ordinary Blessed Orbs cannot be applied to corrupted items.
Can Blessed Orbs reroll unique items?
Yes. Non-corrupted unique items with variable implicit modifiers can be rerolled using Blessed Orbs.
However, the unique’s explicit modifiers remain unchanged.
Can Blessed Orbs reroll Synthesised implicits?
Yes. Blessed Orbs can reroll the values of eligible Synthesised implicit modifiers.
They do not generate new Synthesised implicit modifier types.
Do Blessed Orbs work on Eldritch implicits?
Yes, when the Eldritch implicit has a rerollable value.
They cannot change the implicit’s tier or replace its modifier type.
Can Blessed Orbs reroll Guardian maps?
Yes. Since Patch 3.28, Blessed Orbs can reroll the specific Elder Guardian or Conqueror on eligible maps. Pre-existing maps excluded by that update do not gain this functionality.
Is there a Blessed Orb vendor recipe?
No direct, guaranteed vendor recipe is currently documented.
Blessed Orbs are primarily obtained through drops, trading, and occasional random currency rewards.
Are Blessed Orbs worth keeping?
Yes. They are useful crafting currency, particularly for improving valuable items and certain special maps or Logbooks.
If you do not need them immediately, you can store them in your Currency Stash Tab or exchange them for other currency.
