Dragonsong’s Reprise (Ultimate)

Dragonsong’s Reprise (Ultimate) is a level 90 raid introduced in patch 6.11 with Endwalker.

“There are no ifs in history, yet man is wont to cast his mind towards the path not walked.” Thus spoke the wandering minstrel, and at his urging, you reflect upon bygone trials with newfound perspective. Your imagination stirred by the man’s masterfully woven verse, you dream of an alternate conclusion to the Dragonsong War…

Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) Producer Naoki Yoshida sat down with Famitsu to detail content that will be appearing in the MMO with the release of Patch 6.1. This included details about the FFXIV Dragonsong’s Reprise, or Dragonsong Ultimate, and just how difficult it will potentially be. The Epic of Alexander was brought up in the interview, and Yoshida revealed that Dragonsong’s Reprise will be more comparable to the FFXIV The Unending Coils of Bahamut raid. However, he did state that it could potentially take casual players anywhere from four to five months to complete Dragonsong Ultimate. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

However, Yoshida did not want to elaborate too much on the content to avoid delving into potential spoilers for those eager to play the next Ultimate raid. That said, he still shared some information about how it compares to previous Ultimate content:

I’m not worried about those aiming for “World First,” but for those who will be clearing the content slowly… Well, it might take a bit longer I think… Players who aim for “World First” have had their understanding of Final Fantasy XIV tested. I can’t say that Dragonsong’s Reprise won’t have any gimmicks, but it is more like The Unending Coils of Bahamut. There will be quite a fair amount of gimmicks, so please look forward to it.

Yoshida also revealed that Dragonsong Ultimate will potentially take 20 minutes to complete. He further mentioned that he personally checked the contents of the raid during its production.
