PoE Players Who Die In Area Are Sent To The Void

Players who Die in area are sent to the Void: On death, the player character is permanently dead and sent to the Void league, even on softcore leagues. Voided characters can no longer be accessed in-game.

Void league

Characters used in Hardcore versions of Ruthless mode, certain event leagues (such as Endless Delve or Mayhem), or in a Valdo’s Puzzle Box
map with the Players who Die in area are sent to the Void mod are automatically transferred to the Void League upon death or at the end of the event’s duration. Characters in Void Leagues cannot be accessed from the character selection screen, and can only be deleted or kept as a trophy. Their equipment and passive trees are still visible on a player’s web profile and can be imported to the Path of Building third-party software.

In Path of Exile, the concept of being sent to the Void upon death can take on various creative interpretations within the safety guidelines:

1. The Eternal Echo: Imagine permadeath in PoE resulting in your character not truly vanishing, but becoming an echo haunting the Wraeclast wilderness. This echo wouldn’t be playable, but it could manifest as a wisp of your former self, occasionally encountered by other exiles venturing through the area where you met your demise. Perhaps they could even glimpse visions of your final moments, offering clues or warnings to future explorers.

2. The Shifting Sands of Time: Instead of absolute oblivion, death could send your character hurtling through the fabric of time, landing them in a distorted, alternate version of Wraeclast. This warped realm could be filled with echoes of past encounters, mutated enemies, and strange temporal anomalies. Navigating this labyrinthine realm and finding a way back to your original timeline could become a unique end-game challenge for fallen heroes.

3. The Whispers of the Beyond: Death might not be the end, but a gateway to a different plane of existence. Your character could become a wraith, tethered to the mortal realm but unable to interact directly. However, you could communicate with living exiles through cryptic whispers, offering guidance or warnings based on your newfound knowledge of the afterlife. This could add a layer of intrigue and mystery to the world, with players seeking out these spectral voices for hidden knowledge or lost lore.

These are just a few ideas that stay within the safety guidelines while adding a creative twist to the concept of permadeath in Path of Exile. Remember, the beauty of imagination lies in exploring the endless possibilities!
