“Countdown” is the Seventeenth mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II single-player campaign. Now the Ghost and the rest of the team know the third missile is headed to Chicago. They must do everything in their power to stop it from crashing into the city.
This Countdown walkthrough explains all the tasks you need to complete this mission.
After getting off the helicopter, follow Price and attach your hook to the roof to rappel down the building.
You will need to change position and drop to get to the floor where the hostages are. Eliminate the threats and keep going down.
On the next floor, kill the four enemies and keep going down.
There will be five enemies on the next floor. Kill them all to clear the area.
Keep rappelling down the building and wait for Price to blast a window so you can get inside.
Get inside the building and follow the team into the server’s room.
Before you go into the first server’s room, we recommend picking up the Bryson 890 lying on a desk in the room where Price blasted the window. This shotgun has only 48 shots but works incredibly well at short range, and you can kill enemies with just one shot.
Clear the area and open the door on the right side of the room to keep moving forward.
An enemy will attack you as soon as you open the door, kill it, and continue clearing this room. Once the area is secure, keep moving forward into the next room and secure it.
Open the next door to get into the control room. The place is empty, but Ghost thinks Hassan might be a couple of levels below.
Price will blast another window so you guys can exit the room and rappel down.
Move below to get to the restaurant floor.
Move left to get inside using the window Price blasted.
Clear the restaurant’s first and second floors from enemies and go to the first floor to get to the exit. The door is locked, so you must wait until Price opens it for you.
Go through the door and use the stairs to enter an office level.
At this point, the missile will launch, and you have to make it explode before reaching its target. But first, you need to clear the office room of enemies.
Kill all enemies and reach the doors that lead to the main office (the ones to the elevators’ left).
The team will set up a snakecam to get visual on Hassan before breaching it, but a cutscene will start where you guys get ambushed by a couple of enemies.
Once the cutscene is over, get out of the office and move left to get to the elevators. Drop down to the second floor through the elevator shaft.
A bomb will go off but don’t worry, just get inside the elevator through the opened emergency hatch.
You will land on top of Hassan. This will allow you to grab the missile’s controls from him.
Exit the elevator with the controls and sprint to find a safe space to hide. There will be enemies waiting outside, so be careful because you won’t be able to defend yourself.
It’s best if you find a safe place where you can override the missile’s instructions. Most likely, the enemies on this floor will find you a couple of times before you’re done with the override, so you will have to move quickly across the room to keep working.
Open the controls and enter diagnostic mode by pressing CLR and MODE simultaneously. Afterward, give Laswell what’s in row two, column three. The correct answer here is %ESP. The next step is to hit LEFT and CLR to initiate overwide. The final step is to press LNK when the green light is in the fourth position to detonate the missile.
Now that the missile is neutralized, you need to find a weapon to get out of here alive.
Explore the area to get biding and a piece of metal to craft a Pry tool (both of these materials are inside the room left to the reception desk).
Go back to the desk and pry open the red storage cabinet to get a box cutter. With it, you can perform a melee attack on an enemy to get their weapon.
Make sure the area is somewhat clear before prying open the cabinet, as it will make a lot of noise, attracting nearby enemies.
With the box cutter in hands, stun an enemy using a smoke gun and get their weapon, now kill the other enemy.
Hassan will attack you, and a cutscene where he takes you to throw you off the building starts.
Your Pov will change to Ghost for the second time in the campaign. This time you need to use the scope in your rifle to kill Hassan before he kills Soap.
Killing Hassan ends the mission and the single-player campaign.
