Simply add a gem to any socketed item for this achievement. Gems can be gotten as monster drops, and socketed items can be received as drops or purchased from the merchants in each town camp. You should get this very early in your first playthrough.

For this trophy, all you need to do is find a socketed item and put any one of the 7 different gem types into it and the trophy will pop.

A socketed item is represented by a circle appearing on the weapon or having a grey-colored name, although a grey name could mean the item is ethereal as well so keep an eye out.

The gems you can use for socketing and what they do are as follows:

Ruby

• When socketed into a weapon – adds fire damage
• When socketed into armor – adds to maximum life
• When socketed into helms – adds to maximum life
• When socketed into shields – adds fire resistance

Sapphire

• When socketed into a weapon – adds cold damage
• When socketed into armor – adds to maximum mana
• When socketed into helms – adds to maximum mana
• When socketed into shields – adds cold resistance

Emerald

• When socketed into a weapon – adds poison damage
• When socketed into armor – adds to maximum dexterity
• When socketed into helms – adds to maximum dexterity
• When socketed into shields – adds poison resistance

Topaz

• When socketed into a weapon – adds lightning damage
• When socketed into armor – adds to magic find
• When socketed into helms – adds to magic find
• When socketed into shields – adds lightning resistance

Diamond

• When socketed into a weapon – adds damage to undead %
• When socketed into armor – adds to attack rating
• When socketed into helms – adds to attack rating
• When socketed into shields – adds all resistance

Amethyst

• When socketed into a weapon – adds to attack rating
• When socketed into armor – adds to maximum strength
• When socketed into helms – adds to maximum strength
• When socketed into shields – adds defense

Skull

• When socketed into a weapon – adds life and mana stolen per hit
• When socketed into armor – adds regen mana and replenish life
• When socketed into helms – adds regen mana and replenish life
• When socketed into shields – adds attacker takes damage
